Can I suggest Tealit.com and Dave's ESL cafe (www.eslcafe.com)? It might not be the JET community, but there are plenty of postings for English teaching positions in Asia and I know you are more than qualified for all of them. Hell, if I could get into the HESS program, you'd have a FAR better time of it than me. Most of the job postings are for Taiwan, China, Singapore and Korea, but you might find some programs for Japan too. Don't give up on teaching ESL in Asia, there are plenty of opportunities, even if it's not what you originally hoped for :).
