911 dispatchers are also there to give you emergency advice & deal with shocked callers as well as to send out ambulances. Big thumb cuts are terrifying.

Injuries that bleed a lot are weirdly disconcerting! I'm glad you're ok.

Moral of the story: it is still *way better* to be the dumbest 911 call of the night than to be the most interesting!

The extent to which I'm an idiot when I'm in shock is always startling to me. Whose idea was it to make us stupid in moments of crisis???
