Ugh.  Lousy husbands.  What good are they?  (Shoots death glare at sleeping husband, sleeping happily since 6:30pm)

Anyway.  I have cramps, a headache and a pissed off attitude.  Maybe I should go to bed.  (Or maybe I should eat the plateful of brownies I just made.  HMmmm.)

We leave for Hawaii on Sunday and I don't have a damn thing packed or ready ( Read more... )

Check out The Book Geek. I've been keeping track of the books I've read this year (oh-so-close to 50), and several on the list are "light and fluffy" -- Dairy Queen, Boys that Bite, braced2bite, and anything by Kathryn Caskie.

Have a great time on your grip!!!!

Thanks for the link to your site! I wasted a good amount of time that I should have been doing laundry reading there this morning! :D

I know what my tastes range, I think it's going to be a 50 TRASHY books in a year because I just enjoy that type of plot if I'm reading for fun.

Have you read the #1 Ladies Detective Agency Books? Are they any good, I see them ALL over the place.

Are those by Alexander McCall Smith (or something like that)? I haven't read any though the reviews (and an Entertainment Weekly article a few months ago) have prompted me to consider it.

You should visit Smart Bitches, Trashy Books. They review romance books (as well as being an entertaining blog).

In New England, we think 80 degrees is a heatwave and head straight for the islands to cool off and drink over-priced wine. In Hawaii, though, I remember it seeming cooler than the actual temp because of all the nice breezes. What island are you going to? Man, I so have to go back there. I loved it.

For books, my light reading was mostly from my RWA goodie bag, so I read Ex and the Single Girl, Bitten & Smitten, all things Stephanie Plum and some cheesy historical romances that held my attention for the duration of the book but that I now cannot remember a thing about. That can't be good.

We're going to Oahu! Yay! I'm really excited because I've never been there before and I wrangled my parents into buying me a video camera for Christmas so I can get some video of the trip.

I've read Stephanie Plum and I was so in love with the series until... Book 6 or so where I prayed that JE would change the plots a little. If I read about Stephanie blowing up ONE more car... Beh.

Bitten and Smitten is fun, as was Angel With Attitude. Michelle Rowen has a sequel to Bitten and Smitten coming out in June (or July) 2007, Fanged and Fabulous.

I'm totally wishing I could count the 3 books in the Teremaire series by Naomi Novik! They were wonderfully light, historical fantasty.

Haven't forgotten about you! Trying to juggle 5 people in my house + the normal work has turned out to be more overwhelming than I had expected.

Nah, I understand. All those kids? It's hard to sneak away to get to fic.

Regarding the fic, I'm actually surprised at the speed and the relative ease it's coming to me. When I used to write for Roswell, it always took awhile to get started. My writing was SO much better back then because I was writing for everything... unfortunately, now my writing is non-existant in the classroom. SIGH.
