I Really Love Knowing This Stuff...

Most of my flist probably knows about the facebook group that Aaron Sorkin started and regularly shows up at to chat on the boards. It's fairly interesting and often entertaining, despite and sometimes because of the fact that most of the posts (which can be both far too long and self-congratulatory) are done by a small group of Aaron groupies who ( Read more... )

Hey, lauren, thanks for bringing that! Yes, a daily (or whenever) feed would be awesome. Especially for me, holding up a crucifix in Facebook's general direction.

Heh-heh. Yeah, you'll want to keep it close by. For reasons that have nothing to do with Sorkin ...

That's the page I had open...it's probably further along by now.

If you just search Aaron Sorkin on Facebook, it's the 'and the Facebook Movie' group. The thread in question is the 'Questions For Me?' bit.

It's mostly Jaz (our tessa) and her gang--Fenny hooloovoo, and a few others from the Groban fandom. Sometimes caz will pop in, or amy. The Jill Weinberger person is new to us, but she's great. The entire thread has been an education, and I mean that completely seriously.

Schiff made sure he had the business card that was found in the homeless man's coat

I meant to respond to Aaron on that...I might still.

That one just really touched me. I mean, as a prop---it's a *card*. Big whoop. So what it means (I pop-analyze) is that it's a reminder of the whole storyline for him. I just get the warmest, fuzziest feeling when it seems that the actors who make this stuff are just as touched-to-the-core by it as we, the viewers, are.

So often, you hear that actors don't watch their own shows....and why would they, really? They were there, often doing multiple takes--I'm sure it loses a bit of magic in the making, you know? (Laws and sausages.) Plus there's that whole seeing-yourself-onscreen weirdness. It's just nice to know that there's enough fairy dust in the making of it that something as simple as a business card would be an important keepsake.

The night the last scene of the last episode was shot it was like a land rush on Stage 23. Matt Perry stole Teddy Roosevelt's Nobel Prize, I was given the door to the White House Communications Office and Tommy has a framed napkin that says "Bartlet for America" scrawled in John Spencer's handwriting. Allison took her podium, Schiff made sure he had the business card that was found in the homeless man's coat and Martin simply refused to leave.
Interesting, and cool, that both Matthew Perry and Aaron were there for the last night of TWW filming. Makes sense, since they were starting up Studio 60 in late March of '06. But cool that they both wanted to be there, albeit less surprising in Sorkin's case.

Thanks for sharing, Lauren!

flip stole my lines. ;)

(I think, too, that I love this because it's RS. As if Toby had suddenly let his guard down again...)
