For a mere nine million pounds, Post #37

So, Any House but Here...

The renovation of my bathroom has gone on for two weeks -- or should I say, the demolition of my bathroom, because as in any good Fixer Upper episode about 35 minutes into the program, the contractor Found More Problems as he demo-ed. But that's done and the reconstruction has begun. Whoo-hoo ( Read more... )

Master Danger would look FABULOUS lounging on one of those library sofas. And that tea/private dining table at the window!

Hugs and patience for renovations. You know it is going to look so good when it is done. Eyes on the prize :-)

Thank you for the important reality-check! YES, it's going to be so great to have it done. :)

Cheers and tea (iced, if the heat is too much) for you today.

Great bookcases, horrible orange everywhere. Those chairs with the fried-egg shapes on the backs... [shudder] It's not exactly a relaxing environment. But that might even be enough shelves for, say, half our books.

Any house any where? To start with, somewhere that isn't so horribly hot and dry, with more of an artists community nearby maybe. More studio space for me and for Paul, lots of room for more bookshelves. Beyond that, I'm pretty pleased with our 1922 bungalow plus addition as it is.

Books are always a good thing!

And it sounds like you and yours should be in NoCal, rather than SoCal. :)

Yeah, the San Francisco area would be fun. Maybe after the girls move out, but right now we're tied here by family obligations. I wouldn't mind visiting there though.

Oh, dear, the Curse of Remodeling has evidently been laid on you. I hope you have more than one bathroom. I have had the most amazing disasters when my one and only bathroom was hit by that curse.

And I love that flat. Of course, they don't have as many books as I do, but they do shelve them gorgeously. And red walls! And bay windows! Sigh.

Any house but here? I think here, but also possibly here in Bluffton. But truly, here on the coast.

I DO have more than one bathroom, thank heavens -- although the contractor didn't think to ask me until 4 days into the project. ;)

That Bluffton home is *GORGEOUS*. Wow!

Hugs for your day!

I think I might have to spend an afternoon culling books so that, yes, the books on tables and the floor might have their own home. ;)

Cheers and hugs!

That's a lot of orange, but I love the window/bookcase placement. Not a juxtaposition that would work here, but gorgeous there.

I had planned to do this reply yesterday, but your question about the Any House But Here led me to checking real estate links for places up home, which led me to calling my sister so we could gossip about homes for sale near where we grew up and who used to live where and the whole can you believe/do you remember? thing and then it was time for dinner and the day was done.

Belatedly --I bet the orange looks better under English skies than it would under yours or mine. ;) That being said, I *really( don't like orange.

I hope the talk with your sister and the reminiscing were a delight in a hot summer. :)

Hugs hugs hugs!
