Lord of the Rings: Opinions?

I know Lord of the Rings on stage got a LOT of rag from the press saying how horrendous it was. I myself didn't see it, but I know the clips I've seen were absolutely awesome. Naturally they would have cut the story down. I mean, the movies were cut down a lot, and this play is only as long as one of the movies by

I never saw it as I'm an american, but fell in love with Laura's performence and the musical over all!
So much so that I'm creating a fan recording of two songs!
