(Very quick) Idle musings on electoral reform

So it seems that many people are saying that FPTP throws up a hung parliament every 40-50 years whereas AV and PR would gives us a hung parliament after every election. So all of the coalition negotiations that we've got going on now would happen every time

You're absolutely spot on regarding the importance the Lib Dems making a successful coalition. I plan to do a post about this later or tomorrow depending on how much time I have (I'm frantically finishing a long essay for my MA which is due in tomorrow -- by which I mean I am spending far more time than I should checking the Guardian and BBC live-feeds

I am stuck somewhere between being a Tory and a Lib Dem; there were bits of the Lib Dem manifesto that I liked, and I wanted to want to vote Lib Dem, but ultimately I liked the Tory manifesto more (which is not to say that I agreed with it completely
