So it seems that many people are saying that FPTP throws up a hung parliament every 40-50 years whereas AV and PR would gives us a hung parliament after every election. So all of the coalition negotiations that we've got going on now would happen every time ( Read more... )

You're absolutely spot on regarding the importance the Lib Dems making a successful coalition. I plan to do a post about this later or tomorrow depending on how much time I have (I'm frantically finishing a long essay for my MA which is due in tomorrow -- by which I mean I am spending far more time than I should checking the Guardian and BBC live-feeds ( ... )

I am stuck somewhere between being a Tory and a Lib Dem; there were bits of the Lib Dem manifesto that I liked, and I wanted to want to vote Lib Dem, but ultimately I liked the Tory manifesto more (which is not to say that I agreed with it completely ( ... )
