That dance off was not the one it should have been. Having said that, I didn't think that the music for James and Zoe suited the samba and that might be part of the reason why they didn't pick up public votes. But I am glad the judges said what they did.
There were problems with the music choice that's certainly true, and when added to their previously known lack of support I was definitely worried. But, I never for one moment thought they'd be bottom two with another good couple, so I admit I thought they'd be safe even if they were there.
Then that happened!
I can see why Ali and Brian didn't get enough votes as well, so in retrospect maybe it wasn't unpredictable.
I think the problems with Ali's foot distracted her. The travesty of this result is that there isn't really anyone to give Ali or Ricky W a run for their money. Not now.
RE: your final comment, I think Len's missing the bloody point! And Len was being a hypocrite anyway by taking a moment to berate Craig instead of giving the concrit he thought Craig wasn't giving.
(I hope that didn't seem like a rant at you, by the way, I'm just letting off some steam about this.)
I want to like Natalie and Ricky, I do want to but I feel sort of meh about them really. Same with Ali and Brian. They're good, don't get me wrong but I don't cheer when they are saved (like I did for Chris and Ola).
I didn't vote. But if I had I would have wanted to vote for Ricky G, Natalie C, Phil, Jade, Laila or Chris. LOL (Indecisive moi?) I think I like their personalities and their passion for dance *shrugs* Is it a popularity contest?!
Ricky's a good dancer but there's something about both him and Natalie that I'm not connecting with. I do believe that dancing should be the main factor in the result, but that said if I'm not connecting with the dancers then I don't enjoy the dance. :-( I won't argue with the result if Ricky and Natalie are the best and win, I just won't be jumping for joy over it.
I was the same with Alesha two years ago, and Rachel last year. (So was thrilled when Tom and Camilla pulled off the best show dance! *g*)
Heh, not indecisive at all in your preferences there...! ;-)
I was the same with Rachel and Lisa last year and so pleased that Tom won!
I've always loved Alesha!!
In the past I would have always said Dancing was the most important, but there's that connecting and loving the dance thing which I don't think that Ricky W has. Still I won't stop watching if it's him and Ali in the final, I want him to fall in love with it I guess!!
I haven't actually watched the show yet but that result was MENTAL. Absolutely ridiculous. THAT is why Craig should have gone out, fuck Blackpool tbh, that's just NOT fair.
I'm sorry you lost your favourites, but Ali & Brian are my favourites, so I'm not too sorry. =/
Ooh yay I've been meaning to ask if you're still watching this year! Glad you are :-D
I've admitted I was initially all for Craig going to Blackpool. But that was entirely on the assumption we weren't going to lose a potential finallist/winner. I was of the opinion that it didn't matter too much if we lost another weaker dancer just to let the poor guy get through one more week and dance in his home town. BUT. He should never have remained at the expense of someone like Zoe. That's just wrong. And if I sound all double standardy about it, I don't much care! lol
Ali and Brian are my second favourites so I guess we're cheering in the same direction now! I'm still gutted though :-(
Haha, of course! I have to admit though, it's taken a backseat to X Factor. =/
LOL!! Not double standardy, I totally understand what you mean. I mean, he seems like a nice enough guy so fair enough if people vote for him so he can go to Blackpool, but not if it means someone who can actually, you know, dance goes out. Not right.
Yeah, I guess we are. I hope this doesn't knock her confidence too much. I thought they were pretty well liked. Claudia will use her "I know I've said this a thousand times, but middle table is a dangerous place to be" line on Tuesday. ;)
Aww *hugs* It really sucks when you lose a favourite. I remember how distraught I was when Christine & Matt went out last year. =/

It's still utter madness though!
