When you think song lyrics are one thing and they are something else. I am the worst at this.  I'll be merrily singing along with words that aren't at all right... but they sound okay.  Seems fine to me.  I can't understand the D*MN singer anyhow

Going increasingly deaf as I am (I'm totally gonna need a hearing aid by fifty...) I have given up on ever being correct with song lyrics. Particularly because I like both Irish folk and metal, neither group being noted for their clear diction.

I spent a year confused as to why the heroine in one song had "th' marlin" in her smile--marlins are a noble fish, certainly, but it seemed an odd comparison!--until I actually looked it up and realized it was "morning."

As is normally the case, it is much more amusing with Marlin. :)

And I understand the going deaf bit.... I was in band for 9 years, and any sort of white noise (i.e. at conventions) makes me useless. I am have to repeatedly ask what people said. Oh well.
