Sakura

When she’s survived Torchwood for a month, Jack buys her a bouquet of flowers.
Holding the blooms, looking at them, taking them in, Toshiko finds herself wiping at her eyes. She’d tried so hard to hang on to beautiful things, picturing them in her mind to stop herself going out of her mind. Now, confronted with the real and beautiful thing, it’s all a little too much to cope with.
Taking the bouquet, Jack sets it carefully on her desk, pulls her close and kisses her hair.
“I’m gonna let you blossom here, Toshiko, just like the flowers, I promise.”
