Ladies, do either of you know anything about the Quiet Birdmen? kreutzmarie suggested I include them in The Torchwood Girls and make Jack a member. She has also offered me pictures of the items they gave to her dad, but I wondered if either of you knew anything as well. There's the sum total of 2 pages on them, on the web.

Not a message to me, but what have you been able to pull up? I found some stuff on the web as well, and I'm curious if we just found the same things or not.

How far does "The Torchwood Girls" go?

I've looked around a bit, and it seems like the London Hanger was established in the forties - so I'm not sure Jack would be a member as I don't think there would have been any hangers in the UK.

Though the actives of the early years were said to be very similar to how the pilots behaved in France. The precursor to the club was The American Flying Club that was started on Armistice Day in France, and was closed down two years later in New York City as they got too out of control in their partying.

I'll email the info to you in a bit, after I download all the stuff to my computer. Just for safety sake, as I don't remember if you can yank things off of the Wayback Machine.

I'm taking the main narrative to 1920, I think. I've already written a 1928 Remembrance Sunday/Armistice Day scene, as that's when the Cardiff war memorial was opened.

I got your message, thanks for finding the info. Sounds like I need a 1940s scene with them, I think.

(And possibly a 1960s scene for the shot at dawn soldiers.)

It certainly sounded like the Masons, what I did find. Thanks for helping :)
