I've learned to be cautious with re-watching shows I loved as a kid. Loony Tunes and The Addams Family are still funny, as is Rocky and Bullwinkle if you ignore the fact that nearly half of every episode is padding, but Captain Scarlet was a disappointment - the novelty of a kids' show where the good guys often lose, the occasional moments of good writing and the still very cool SPV can't make up for puppets who, while realistically proportioned, can barely move a muscle - it's rather like watching Keanu Reeves in a straitjacket. The Groovie Goolies is so awful it makes me wince, and I'm wondering whether Jonny Quest and The Herculoids are better left as happy memories.
