Oh, I like this. All three seem very plausible, though very sad, even (a little bit) the one with Nancy.

Thank you very much! :)

It struck me that John made three very big choices -- not counting the decisions he made on Atlantis -- that really shaped his life. They did all turn out pretty melancholy...though, even if it is a little sad, I did picture him having a happy ending (for the most part) with Nancy. :)

I'm so happy that you enjoyed it!

I loved this. I'm not crazy about AUs, but these short what ifs makes me sniff a little, especially ever since Vegas aired. Well done.

Thank you very much! :) I'm so glad that you enjoyed it!

I haven't actually had a chance to see Vegas yet. I didn't get the Sci-Fi channel until a few months ago, so I'm still a season or so behind. I've actually avoided fics for that one just because I want to be surprised, lol. :)

Ahh very cool...perhaps some glimpses into other "alternate universes" where those Johns took different paths... *claps*

Mmm, oh yes, this is excellent. Very sad, but most definitely believable, and so very Shep - though the thought of his ending up any of those ways (which he so easily could have!) is just terribly tragic.

Very well done indeed.

Thank you very much!

I'm so very glad that you thought it fit Sheppard. It really is hard to imagine him being truly happy as anything other than a soldier and a pilot. I picture him having a happier ending with Nancy in the second AU, but even then, I think he'd feel like he was missing something. Being a soldier and protecting others is just such a large part of who he is.

I'm so happy that you enjoyed it! :)

Nicely done, very perceptive and absolutely believable. Really like where you've gone with these AUs.

Thank you so much!!! :) I'm sorry that it's taken me so long to answer your reviews. I had some serious computer problems and wound up having to wipe the operating system. Most of my time lately has been taken up by trying to reinstall everything.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! :) I've always loved AUs and what-ifs, and I couldn't resist exploring some of the untraveled roads on Atlantis with Sheppard's character.
