Well, since I was so lazy in replying to comments, you only have to click on the next entry to find out. ;-)

Well, first of all - wow. And thank you so very much for this really wonderful comment.
I'm really sorry for your losses, but I know what you mean. Back when my own father passed away, many things I read got to me like that, so I really understand where you're coming from. And maybe some of that still flows into the way I write things, who knows.
Anyway, thank you so much, again. It's really great to hear that this story excited you so much so far. :D

So good I've been holding back tears. Jim is so impassioned about his crew and Bones!

I always see him that way, which might be totally off canon since I never really watched TOS, but AOS Jim strikes me as someone who's all flippant, charming and teasing on the outside, but you'd better not dare hurt the ones he's responsible for, because he cares about them. A lot. ;-)
Glad you liked it, thanks so much!

Oh, god, this is so much better than the original confrontation in the show. Jim's intensity and his speech about Chekov and Bones are really fabulous and they pack such a punch.

Again, this is a really stellar chapter and I'm looking forward to the next installment, but I'm sad that it's coming to an end soon. Although I'm sure it'll be a very satisfying end. ;)

I'm sad to see this come to an end, too. But it was a lot of fun so far, so I'm eternally indebted to you for the prompt.
And I think Archer could have amped the emotion a little more in the original episode. It was his best friend after all. ;-)
