I've tired of this question. There is almost no ground to be gained by exploring it -- Mormons will almost always answer "yes," mainstream Christians will usually answer "no," (a notable exception to be found in John A. H. Futterman of the Virtual Church of the Blind Chihuahua, who has read the Book of Mormon and is exploring the Doctrine and Covenants at last word) no matter what anybody says on the matter. As fun as it is to respond to "You don't believe in the same Jesus," with "I believe the one in the Bible -- which one do you believe in?" it gains nothing, and fighting about it brings contention to the matter, which prompts the Spirit to leave the discussion, and nothing good can be gained in that process.
Spend more time and effort showing Christian living. Love your neighbors, be a good person, live the gospel, and repent of all your sins, and your life will demonstrate the answer to the question greater than any words you could ever say.
I have also tired of this question. Probably mostly because I get frustrated with closed-minded individuals very quickly.
We are. They don't think we are. They are so certain they are right, that they will never open their mind even a tiny bit.
I agree with Blainn... any insistence on our part will end in a Spirit-Killing argument, and any hope for a peaceful understanding is lost.
Whenever I am personally approached with the topic, I simply state that I personally believe that I am a Christian. I love and follow Christ's teachings, and I am sad that there are those who don't feel that that is enough. It is wonderful to live in such a diversive time, where people can have differing beliefs and still (hopefully) peacefully coexist.
