My favourite film of all time.. the play was written by Jerome Lawrence & Robert E Lee; the wordiness of it is wonderful and the compassion of Henry Drummond is noted by the newsman Hornbeck: Henry Drummond: You poor slob! You're all alone. When you go to your grave, there won't be anybody to pull the grass up over your head. Nobody to mourn you. Nobody to give a damn. You're all alone. E. K. Hornbeck: You're wrong, Henry. You'll be there. You're the type. Who else would defend my right to be lonely? I could go on & on about this film... can't remember how many times I've seen it; and Spencer Tracy's version is head & shoulders above the 1988 version with Kirk Douglas & Jason Robards! Geeky or what??!!
