OOM: Miami

This was a good idea of his, he thinks. He's been dying to get out of the bar for a while and he likes Miami - hot, beaches, women in bikinis everywhere, nice cars, plenty of good stores to blow cash in. They could both do with a day away and it'll be nice to be able to spoil Fi. Nice to be able to show off some of his immense wealth too, obviously ( Read more... )

She loops her hand through his arm and dangles the car keys for him.

"Bal Harbour. We can shop and have a bite of lunch while we're there."

She's never had a sugar daddy before. As long as her cellphone doesn't ring, this should be fun.

Good champagne too. Enough of this, and waiting around in clothes shops all day wont be so painful.

Of course, having her appear looking like that eases the pain considerably as well.

'Beautiful.'

Honestly.

'You look like a movie star.'

She stalks across the floor to him and leans over, giving him a spectacular view down her cleavage. She kisses his cheek and whispers, "This dress is insanely expensive. Are you sure about this?"

She pulls back, still grinning, but with one eyebrow raised in question.

His expression is one made entirely of, 'oh please.'

'Yes, I'm sure. You can even get it in every colour they have, if you like.'

If she knew how rich he was, she probably wouldn't have asked that question, he thinks.

For a brief moment, Fiona considers that she's in the wrong line of business. But then, she remembers how volatile the drug markets are. Best to stick with guns, and sell to both sides. It's not glamorous, but it's a steady job, at least as much as anything in her line of work is.

"Okay, baby. You like the red?" She does a little twirl in front of mirrors, looking back over her shoulder at him.

She knows she looks damned good in red. And the sales woman brings her a pair of shoes to match.

'You can never go wrong with red. Or black.'

She does look really amazing. And he always appreciate a beautiful woman.

'You just going to get that one?'

"There's a whole row of shops, you know. I'm trying to pace myself."

One shop assistant refills his champagne while another takes Fi's purchases for packaging while she changes back into her clothes. She peeks at him over the top of the dressing room door, grinning like a kid in a candy shop.

"You get to pick next."

'But you don't need to pace yourself. I've been trying to tell you.'

He nods at the woman refilling his glass, then smirks at the way her eyes flick away. He'll never get tired of people drawing the correct conclusions when they see a rich South American.

'Lingerie?'

His answer is, perhaps, predictable.

A fully-dressed Fiona emerges from the dressing rooms, hands readjusting her hair.

"Later," she chides, wagging her eyebrows at him. "Another dress or two, first. I think maybe something black and slinky."

She's keeping an eye on the walk outside the shop, almost as if she expects to see someone lurking outside.

'Promises, promises...'

Though he figures she won't mind following through on this one. He puts his glass down and turns to follow her line of sight.

'Looking for someone?'

She shakes her head and glances at the shop assistants, giving him a look that says Tell you in a minute.

The shop girl brings him a leather folder with the total.

She makes herself scarce, checking out a rack of scarves, her eyes carefully averted from the transaction.

He gives a minute nod, acknowledging her silence and checks the price of the dress when the folder is bought. No great shakes - he pulls a wad of cash from the inside of his jacket, still with the paper round the middle that binds it and has the value of the stack printed on it. He hands it over and tells her to keep the change, then takes the bag with the dress over to Fiona.

'One condition of this trip - I'm not carrying bags of ladies clothes around. Here.'

He holds it out to her. No way is he becoming a packhorse today. Once they buy a few more things, he'll get the stuff taken to the car.

She takes it and leans in close, smiling. Her voice is pitched for his ears alone. "Dark jacket, yellow shirt, ear piece, carrying. I think he's security for someone else shopping, but just keep an eye on him."

That accomplished, she presses a kiss against his cheek that lingers just a bit.

The shop girl at least has enough tact to wait until they're gone to celebrate her good fortune.

He frowns a little at her words but smiles at the kiss. When they're outside the shop, he says casually (and very definitely not looking anywhere near Yellow-Shirt);

'Tell me, has there ever been a nuclear bomb go off in the US, here? In the Mojave Desert? Around 2002?'

This is not the kind of low key conversation to be having when you might have an FBI or ATF tail. Her eyes go wide as she looks at him like Are you crazy?

"No, not that I recall oh look at that blue green print!"

Her arm squeezes his as she guides him gently farther down the arcade.

He relaxes and lets her take him where she will.

'They're not here for me then,' he murmurs, leaning close to her. 'Just checking if this was a different world from mine. Have you done anything recently that might attract attention?'

He figures that might be a stupid question but you never know, she might have taken a vacation from illegality in the last few months.
