Am currently reading "The girl with the dragon tattoo" by Stieg Larsson no I don't have anything better to do.Is it the worst fucking book I've ever read? I don't know, but it's right up there with the first thirty pages of "Illuminati" XD I kinda liked the movie ("Verblendung" resp. "Men who hate women") despite its somewhat sensationalist ( Read more... )

I hated the movie. Noomi Rapace being very very hot made staying in the cinema for the duration tolerable, but did not save the movie imo.

I like it when you write in English, because then I don't feel guilty replying in English :-D

What can I say, I'm easily distracted by prettiness :D The movie as a whole I'm conflicted about, though.

You can of course reply in whatever language you're comfortable with!

Gracias :-)
La verdad es que aunque me gustaría practicar más mi Alemán, cada vez que lo intento me sale en Español, y me tengo que esforzar muchísimo para formular una respuesta muy simple.

But my friend ximeria always gets annoyed with me when I comment on her posts in a different language, because even if I know that she understands it, other readers following the conversation might not, and they'll feel all excluded and sad. And also, not being able to write German makes me feel like a loser.

... I realise I had it coming. *unpacks high school French* "The truth is that I thingy thingy want to practise my German, thingy thingy point of me writing in Spanish, and thingy thingy enforce(?) muchly for formulating a much simpler response."

I think everyone on my Flist speaks English to some extent; speaking German all the time would probably exclude more people. But I totally get wanting to practise a second (third? fourth? you appear very multilingual)!

I felt I should comment cos of the English thing - only thing I could think of to say was that the book sounds terrible and kudos to you for managing to get through it

One language switch, and suddenly people feel compelled to comment :D Awesome! I think it's going to level out at about 50 % English content (these things have to be meticulously planned, after all), and it's not compulsive to comment on everything :D

At least the book didn't keep me long, because I resigned to only read the slightly more interesting bits and stopped 30 pages before the end. But what a waste of time, still.
