What?? Really??? How did this come about???

I was torn between cool just add bats and wait weren't they a couple before but I had to go with cool just add bats b/c who doesn't love the trinity!!
And in my own canon is just bats and chloe for OT4!! XDDD

Oh my goodness my icon is so appropriate for this!!! LOL!!

They're "seeking solace" in one another:

That's always a good reason to hook up characters.

Can't wait to see what happens with this!!

I gotta admit, I'm mostly interested in this in a "pass the popcorn!" kind of way, but one of the very few comics I own is the "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" book, which I love for many reasons, not the least of which is Wonder Woman's attempt to reach out to Kal-El even as she's fighting him, trying to evoke a memory he didn't have. It broke my heart, just a tiny little bit. However, I'm a little (a lot) put off by the "sexy sidekick" promo though. Not cool.

Yes, apparently, this is "the new status quo".

I don't think I can wrap my brain around Superman not being with Lois Lane--and when I picture Lois Lane it's always Margot Kidder standing with Christopher Reeve.

It just doesn't feel right.

I have only vague memories of the Donner movies. When I think of Clois I think of either Superman Returns or Smallville, neither of which really made me fall in love with them. OTOH, Superman Returns was partly disappointing because Kate Bosworth didn't match up to my memories of Margot Kidder as Lois at all.

I'm very pleased because it shakes up the status quo and frankly, I'm good with distancing Clark and Lois while I stop hating Lois and Clark (hopefully that will happen with the new movie).

For long term I am a fan of the traditional Lois/Clark relationship mainly because I really did/do love Lois&Clark, The New Adventures of Superman. If I'm not basically Chloising the Smallville version (whether I worry about a name change or not) then when I think Lois&Clark I think Dean Cain and Terry Hatcher. The show had campy villians but the relationship was done well.

I do like that DC is committed to showing the pairing of Supes and Wondy because of course these two should attempt an relationship. It makes perfect sense.

Long term I think it is kind of a cheat since they each have their own world and characters populating them so the relationship only works with a crossover, but if this pairing pushes the writers to think outside of the box they put themselves in then I will keep jumping for joy.

A status-quo shake-up has many benefits in my mind, if nothing else because Supes/Wondy shippers have probably been wanting this for ages without ever thinking it would happen -- and why not?
Well, like you said, they both have their own titles and there is the imo legitimate fear of turning Wonder Woman into one of Superman's supporting characters, but hopefully keeping this to a cross-over will prevent that -- as well as freeing up each character for potential other love interests in their own books (DC, you need any hints, you talk to me, 'kay?).

I've never really been a clois fan but I stumbled across your LJs and I've been reading grlmonday, babydee1 and your comments and you're calling Erica's Lois "Plastic princess?" and that she should be killed?

wow
you're all the bunch of crazy chlarkers the fandom was talking about, the ones that hate an actress like Durance that was only doing a job and make degrading and mysoginistic comments about her looks and age .Advocate for the erradication of her character through death because of your crazy obsession with Clark/Chloe who never really had any romantic relationship on the show.

I can't believe it's true what they used to say about the Chloe Sullivan fans. I'm glad I stayed out of the fandom for so many years.

hey've just had OMG70YEARS taken from them, and Photoshop is one of the three pillars on which fandom rests (the other two, of course, being fic and wank). And what can we say about you, you base this ship that never happened on AU and totally out of characters fics ( ... )

How about - yes, I agree that making derogatory remarks about Durance's looks and age are uncalled for. I guess I would tend to think of them as being uncalled for because to a large extent they are uncontrollable factors in her life and criticizing anyone for what they can't control is cruel and stupid. Criticizing her for what she can control is another matter - the timing of the very obvious Botox treatments she had prior to season 8, for instance, the ones that left her unable to lift her eyebrows in “Odyssey”. That bothered me because it a) affected her performance and also b) sent a subtle signal that her character's ( ... )

??? You are familiar with fandom, aren't you? The concept of fandom? The idea of droves of addled media consumers with internet connections who write and photoshop and wank about Clex and J2 and Wincest and Kurt/Finn and the Unresolved Sexual Tension inherent in every word Jeff and Annie exchange in spite of the fact that Jeff clearly loves Beer more than he loves Annie? THAT fandom? Because if not.... I think you need to get around LJ a little more. The beauty of fandom, imo, is that you can write and photoshop and wank into being all kinds of glorious fun that canon and stupid ol' real life will never, ever provide. AU is the reason fandom exists. It's what makes fandom worth having. I love the idea of every one of those ships listed above (well, not J2 - real person shipping creeps me the hell out), even if I don't love the ships themselves, because they are the pure creations of fandom. God bless them every one.
