Not that I know anything about Buffy, but Joss was pretty heavily involved in that comic, wasn't he? If so I would probably consider the comic to be a canon extension of that show. I don't know whether I'd consider the Smallville comic to be canon. Heck, Chlollie withstanding, after how they treated Lex in seasons 8 - 10 I have a difficult enough time treating that as canon, never mind a comic book. So I'm kind of riding the fence on this one.

Joss was involved with both and he wrote the stories for a lot of them. With the exception of one storyline (Buffy's bisexual experience and mixed feelings for one of the new slayers), I really enjoyed it. Also, the Angel continuation and the later crossover too. There's one page that will stay in my memory forever. We're in Buffy's head and they open one door to see her in an Angel, Spike sandwich. Her reaction at seeing that unearthed was priceless and one for fan pandemonium.

I reserve judgement for Smallville's comic continuation but I do agree with you on what happened after Season 7.

Oh, I love me some crazy fan pandemonium. Someday when I have absolutely nothing else to do I'll have to look that up.

fwiw, I watched my first two Buffy episodes today. Gettin' tired of not knowing what all the fuss is about. S1E1 and S1E2 -- the effects are a little cheesey and SMG's still a little rough -- oh, and I could not stop giggling over how baby-faced David Boreanaz looks -- but I'm looking forward to marathoning the rest.

I'm excited to see Chlollie in comic book form together! That's something I wasn't sure if I'd ever see so I'm so happy I get see that. I'm soooo happy they are making it easy acess and in a digital comic form, now that's what I'm talking about. That way I don't have to get all of the way to the comic book store and search for it everytime. This is the perfect way to do it for me. As for fearing that they just have more oppurtunities to mess Chlollie up, yeah, there's still always that possibility but I have more hope considering who the writer is. He's the one who gave us Chlollie in the first place. He's the one who did Masquerade an ep that was pratically the Chlollie pilot. So I am more excited then worried. Can't wait until they do this and hope the art is good.

Definitely, digital is good. The last comic book store in my area closed sometime last year, so this is the only way I can get it without subscribing & waiting 6 weeks for the first issue to arrive. Whether or not I will... I don't know. I've got kind of a love-hate relationship with BQM. I loved Luthor and Warrior (the bits of it I watched) and, well, I didn't hate Hex, but still had major issues with it. So I'm still in wait-and-see mode.

I'm still leery of it!! Just like I was leery of s8-10. But then again i don't consider those season's part of canon. It's s1-7, season 8 stands alone and there is s9-10. I guess this will be another segment to what is the never ending saga that should just end.

Just as long as they don't mess with my Chlollie!!

That seems like an excellent way of thinking about it.

And so is this.

There's canon, and then there's apocrypha, and I think we all have to choose for ourselves which is which in a situation like this.
