Some personal insight: I work for a company that has recently purchased some laser "die"-cutting equipment, and the first things I thought of when I saw Lois' mask were: "So, what's the substrate there, and how many of those could we do an hour?"
I think the super-powers have yet to come. As far as the costume goes I think she's trying to get some dirt on the villain of the story (the guy hand-cuffed to the chains). Personally I'm hoping to get four or five more out of the season -- I've got some gaps in the schedule, so I really need this-season's costume department to come through!
The first live-action movie I ever saw, Annie, had Tim Curry in it, and I've been nursing a crush on the man ever since. For this reason, and also because my husband refuses to anymore get up in the middle of the night to take me to the bathroom because I'm scared of what might leap out at me from the dark, I haven't seen It.
I think this episode of SV is an interesting illustration of how times have changed, esp. considering how RHPS was famous for being a midnight movie.
I don't even watch smallville anymore. So now you've sent me scrambling over to Televison Without Pity to see if they've posted a weecap so that I can figure out WTF?
I think it's supposed to be their Supernatural tribute episode: smoke monster possesses talk-show radio host, turns his eyes inky-black -- and then sends him to an S&M club. There's also some stuff about Supergirl somewhere in there.
Only seen Rocky Horror Show once I think, and I'm not even watching SV. Would it be wrong to say that both of them creep me out? For some strange reason they love to put Lois in different costumes, so what's the deal with that?
I think their audience tends to skew a lot more male these days and they probably think the cosplay will appeal to the new viewers.
I think Frank is meant to be a little creepy -- in an over-the-top crazy-creepy-fun kind of way, and he (like Lois, I guess) suffers in the end for his hijinks.

Though he freaked me out completely as Pennywise. Ahhhh! *hides under the covers type scared*
As for Lois? *sighs* I have this episode downloaded and haven't watched it yet. :/
Though I was expecting a showdown between Klinger vs. Lois. M*A*S*H didn't have a late enough time slot (back then) for this look though. ;)
