This was really well written, and I could feek the angst from here. Please tell me there's a sequel coming where Chloe's ready to give Clark a chance and trust him with her heart.
One small nitpick: her name's spelt Imra, I think. Nothing to worry too much about. ;-)
Well done, honey. Welcome to the wonderful world of fanfic!
First of all, welcome to fanfic. It's the most awesome cure ever for frustrating shows. lol
Secondly, this was wonderful. It's well written and it packed so much angst into such a little space. Also, it did something that the show doesn't - it created a consequence for an action that Clark takes. Because even if he's being shielded from the rejection, he still has to live with the yearning caused by his carelessness with his best friends emotions.
And I loved that you were able to address the matter in a way that gave Clark back the loving, gentle side of him that has really been lost in Smallville. The underscoring of his goodness made me hope that Chloe will forgive him someday. A feeling which I have not had for a long time concerning Chloe and Clark.
I'll admit I think the "gentle and forgiving" bit is more of a stated than demonstrated attribute at this point. But I'd like to think Imra can see things we can't.
Hi! I'm checking out your fic for the auction, but now I realize I should have read you sooner. You have a lovely writing voice and the subtext of this piece is so gentle, but heartbreaking.
