It still developed and we are still very close, perhaps more than we would have been had we had a shot at living together.
But what with this and what Obama is saying (if not yet doing) it does feel like a step forward rather than sideways...towards a time when two men can choose to live together and it can be recognised legally in the civilised world so called.
Thing is, as I discovered just the other day, straight people don't always see the whole picture because they need not. This young lady didn't realise civil partnerships were not recognised elsewhere nor that we cannot live and work abroad with partners legally. She is not stupid. Unfortunately just genuinely ignorant.

I think this is very true, and the media doesn't always seek to inform them accurately either. I expect it will come with time.
