Aargh

My PC has no sound on the speakers. I try all the suggestions I find online, but in the back of my mind is the memory of a (Windows) screen that I've seen in the past where you click on the speaker icon and the computer makes a "Boop" sound so you can know right away if the problem is the speakers themselves.  I can't find it so I post on Facebook ( Read more... )

find your computer's control panel. Look for the Sounds icon. It will show you your speakers and ask you to configure them. That triggers a chime and you should be able to adjust the volume there as well.

That was what I thought, but it never showed me the screen I remembered which has a radio button that says "click to test speakers".
As it turns out, the speakers are shot. I got sound on my headphones plugged into the computer, but not when plugged into the speakers. Thanks though!

Start with your computers Control Panel. Click on the icon for Sound. Then click on Speakers/Headphones. A button to configure will show in the bottom left.Click on that and you will then see a screen with a Test button. That will make a noise if your speaker is working.

Up
