Morning: Library... most_feared November 25 2011, 11:54:51 UTC
Kay was in the library looking up more time travel theory. The dynamics of his universe were so particular that it was difficult to find other universes with similar theories of temporal movement. Because of events that he knew should happen and hadn't yet, this was very relevant to his interests.

Of all the people Kay might have expected to run into in this section of the library, Jesse Pinkman probably wasn't one of them. But there he was, amongst the shelves, squinting at Stephen Hawking and Michio Kaku with a slightly (or very) overwhelmed look on his face.

Even stranger, still, was his reaction when he spotted Kay. He blinked, straightened up, and said, "How'd he know I was down here?" He fished his communicator out of his pocket and prodded at it dubiously. "These things on the fritz again?"

Kay wasn't too surprised at Jesse looking up what he was- Narvin may have had issues telling people with decent motivations and picked people prone to dicking him over, but he wouldn't have an incompetent under his employ. What did thoroughly surprise him though is what he said, and Kay shifted to look behind him.

Nope, no one there.

Then back at Jesse, closing up his book. "They've been fine. Who're you talkin' about?"

"...Mr. Narvin?" Jesse said, like it was obvious. "He didn't send you down here after me? I figured maybe he wanted to open up shop for the day."

Somehow, this seemed a more likely possibility than the idea that his time-traveling alien boss's weird CIA boyfriend just happened to be looking up time-travel stuff at the same time he was.

Afternoon: Lunch... most_feared November 25 2011, 11:55:29 UTC
Yesterday was Thanksgiving and he was ninety percent sure that he was still half full from that. Sometimes he resented the annual accumulation of holiday weight that feels like it was bearing down on him.

But if he wanted to do half of what he wants to get done today, he was going to need the energy to move on it.

"Where are you going to put it?" Stildyne asked on his way past, eyeing the other man's plate. "The only time I've seen more food than the last lunch was on Aznir, and people nearly died of that." His usual hyperbole; nobody'd been harmed, but the feasts had been tailored to Dolgorukij metabolism and the Dolgorukij could burn through food like welding torches.

His own plate was relatively sparse. A bit of meat and some pastry. He'd perhaps over-indulged yesterday.

Kay's wasn't exactly overflowing. But he was treating it like a military man would treat a meal. Just scarfing it, with little caring for the flavor of whatever starches he had.

Though he pushed his plate away and leaned back in his chair. "Fuck if I know. My pockets might be bigger on the inside but my stomach sure as hell isn't."

"I have it on pretty decent authority there'll be a lunch tomorrow, as well," Stildyne said, deadpan. "Foresee an emergency before you can finish?"

Evening: Common Room... most_feared November 25 2011, 11:55:54 UTC
And after finishing half, he sat down in the common room in front of the mostly useless television. His legs crossed, his head on his hand, and idly watching what appeared to be reruns of Cops. It made him a little homesick, actually. He missed the last time he had to pry an alien posing as a tire off a rear axle and had to shove it in the back seat of the old LTD. Sometimes it was the little things that reminded you of what you really were.

A gold skinned figure with hourglass eyes walked past, pausing, and stared at the TV. He'd never seen it on before, and hadn't really known what it was. The moving images on the screen reminded him of his communicator, but it was very clear that what he was seeing was not anything on the Barge.

"What is that?" he rasped, pointing at the screen.

He looked up the height of Raistlin, blinking. Guess that it makes sense Cops wasn't broadcast everywhere. Come to think of it, a lot of other races still held the show against their planet.

He looks back to the screen.

"The device, the program, or the cop car on the screen?"

"All of it."

None of it was familiar, likely because his society's technological development was still on horse drawn carriages.

Night: Deck... most_feared November 25 2011, 11:56:28 UTC
He'd almost forgotten about the stars up here. No light pollution. Just the stars.

He was facing the railing, hands in his pockets as he stared out over the constellations and some strange nebula. It could possibly belong in another galaxy. He hadn't been up here all through last month, and despite his point he'd never let himself forget to enjoy them, he had. He'd been turned off to the deck and hated being up there.

The sad thing was he was still a little paranoid over it and couldn't quite manage to drop his hackles.

Una was out for an evening walk with Dios when she saw Kay.

"Evening. It's been a while."

He looked over at Una. Well, if it hadn't been a while since he'd seen that pretty face in person. Last time under the worst damn circumstances in his opinion.

He smiled slightly and looked down at that toddling fluff next to her.

"Yeah. Has he been a good dog?"

"He's been very good. And very patient. Haven't you, lad?" The little white dog barked and trotted up to Kayto say hello. Una smiled. "How are you?"
