A Lazy Sunday Day in the Life

Who?: Mark Hoffman
What?: If you count that on Friday we had Fourth Wall Day, Hoffman's sister was here. And he's been in his room since then. So at some point, he had to eat. And go to the bathroom. He might fail abysmally, but you know. He's also venturing out in search of more liquor. So we could work with that.
why?: I've been hit by a case ( Read more... )

The Gym ~ expectremorse November 13 2011, 21:47:31 UTC

Another attempted distraction. Try and work out, try and do something productive. Except he's in his NYPD shirt and workout shorts and just...sitting on one of the mats.

If prompted, he'll be over here "trying to decide where to start."

Amanda hasn't worked out since she was plunged into her coma. She's sort of been too grief-stricken to even think about it lately, but after talking to all those people when the network went screwy--and her moment with Lua, before that--she decides she needs to find a way to move on. The first step? Picking up a normal routine again.

Usually, she goes to the gym at the crack of dawn, but she was too busy lying awake and thinking depressing thoughts that morning, so it's the middle of the day by the time she forces herself to go. Carrying a small duffel bag with some gear--a bottle of water, a towel, and the like--and wearing an old pair of shorts and a tank top, Amanda walks in determined to do her best to--

Aw shit. Hoffman's already here. She grimaces, but after a few moments of hesitation (during which she starts towards him several times before pulling back) she actually approaches him. She looks down at him with some measure of irritation, but no actual aggression.

Hoffman had dressed automatically for the gym. He didn't look active however, or possibly aware of his surroundings beyond staring straight ahead and occasionally staring at his communicator. He's still got a few nicks and cuts from trying to shave but he's not..aware.

He looks up from his communicator when she approaches and quickly-faster then he's ever moved-he turns it off and slides it out of sight.

He raises his gaze to her with-no emotion. Something positive coming out of all of this

He had absolutely no desire to fight with her any longer. To fight with anyone.

"...Hello."

She returns his greeting with a curt nod. She still hates him, for the most part, but her desire to pound the shit out of him...just isn't there anymore. She doesn't have the motivation to attack anyone anymore. It's like she's been punched in the gut and had the wind knocked from her.

Unzipping her bag with her free hand, she rummages around inside and pulls out her communicator. Flicking through the touch interface one-handed, she taps the conversation she's looking for before holding the device out to Hoffman, so that he can read it.

"Break it and I'll break you," she says, but the threat doesn't actually have any force behind it.

Dinner ~ expectremorse November 13 2011, 21:48:57 UTC

His headache's almost cleared up-so he'll be looking to do something social. Which is why he looks halfway presentable at dinner. Eating some nice greasy food. Trying to sober up.

He really could use company.

Attempting to/Succeeding in imbibing alcohol is go. He'll be stumbling his way to the pub to try and get in-rubbing his head all the while with his communicator in hand.

Narvin passes by Hoffman in the hallway and notes his slow, shuffling walk. So he turns in his tracks to pad quietly behind Hoffman to find out where he thinks he's going in such a state (and to make sure he doesn't get into a brawl along the way).

When Hoffman stops in front of the door to the pub a few steps later, Narvin speaks up from behind him.

"I really don't think you need any more of that."

Hoffman just wants people to be quiet. He wants to not think, to turn his brain off and run away from Amanda being sane and everyone else being...nice and Angelina on the network.

So he turns and shoots him a look, "...Anymore of what."

There's a faint smell on his breath-but it's not nearly enough to knock out a career alcoholic.

Time Lord noses are sensitive, and he wrinkles it in a slight sneer at the smell.

"Those drinks you humans drug yourselves into unconsciousness with."
