Oh, and she has sort of strawberry blonde hair. Very light. It's nearly not red at all. And she has a very fair complexion.

[Parker approved of being right. When the selection was shown, her eyes moved over each piece appreciatively before she lifted up a simple necklace with a sapphire on a pendant.

[George touches the pendant lightly with one finger, like he's afraid he might break it.]

[And you, she thought, but she didn't say it. The clerk came out with some pieces, and Parker nodded.]

It's funny to see something like diamonds so close, and know that they're real and not glass. They're so similar to glass, but at the same time they're not really similar at all. I almost can't wrap my mind around the idea that a person might own one. Or many.

[Parker picked up a pretty cameo and showed it to him.]
