What is it with soldiers and their fascination with getting up in the morning? Before noon, and such.

"Does this great floating bucket have a tangible destination? Or are we just meant to be drifting aimlessly through pseudo-space until we tick our mental health marks?"

Bitch, bitch, bitch. But at least the coffee meant that Gaius had something else with which to occupy his mouth, sipping at the black liquid and gripping it with two-hands as Sarah nudged him in desired direction. Otherwise, he moved willingly enough, if not without token feet dragging for all that he stated no opinion about where they were headed. There were shadows under his eyes and maybe she had been right, about the things that keep one awake at night.

Not that he hadn't been snoring into sleepy satiation when she'd found him, of course. "I'd take the coffee, cheers anyway."

"As long as there's coffee and cigarettes," Sarah said, frowning, "it's doable. God forbid if we ever run out of those two."

If they did, it'd be ugly as hell. She envisioned riots, fires, and alotta pissed off people.

Once up on deck, she planted herself against the railing, flicking her eyes across the spacious deck itself--looking, watching, and truth be told protecting. She was packing this morning, too. A Glock 27 with a Pearce Magazine Grip Extension and a Sig Sauer 1911 Tactical Operations were both strapped securely to her belt and were within easy draw distance. Extra clips were secreted in her pockets, just in case she needed them. For extra security, she had a knife strapped to her thigh--and she was pleased at the comfortable way she was not set up.

And not in the least helpless, nor weapon-naked. Nothing explosive, nothing huge, but comfortable ( ... )

Drifting to the railing in her wake, as if not wishing to be outside the general radius of Sarah's back off aura, Gaius placed a hand on railing and didn't press for an answer to a question that had served its purpose -- he's just saying, really. Meanwhile, the most Gaius was armed with was essentially nice hair and a cup of coffee that was still cooling in its container, which was a sharp contrast to the woman he accompanied. He tipped back on a heel, however, to give a noting scope over of the weaponry Sarah happened to be bristling with that morning. It wasn't complaint, may that be on the record.

In fact, vicious paranoia was on the list of things Gaius was coming to like about Sarah.

"Quite right. I did have a matter of some importance that I wished to discuss with you, though. The wardens, I hear tell, have access to a bar."

Her eyebrows arched high. If that was a matter of some importance, Gaius needed to set his priorities straight. Because getting wasted was not going to help. Sarah put her cup down on the nearest table with a thunk.

"And you want me to root around in there for you," she said skeptically. She drank sometimes, when the nightmares fucked with her hard enough, but not so much these days. It cost her sharpness and reaction time. Both of which she needed at any given moment.

I don't know what you hope to gain from this.

"Let's see," Sarah said with a sigh. "From what Jaggar says," she thumbed at the beefy muscle who'd found the woman, "you were tucked up like a mouse in me lifeboat, lass. At the mo, answers would be relatively enlightening."

Sarah took a moment to light and puff on her pipe, before gesturing at her 'guest' with it.

"I daren't suppose you've heard of of The Red Tide?" she asked. Granted, they were more the sort that robbed the rich and gave to the poor, but still. Sarah Ironheart had no mercy for those who had so much and gave so little. People like...royalty, actually. She crossed her arms beneath her breasts and peered at the woman a touch imperiously.

"Pirates and rogues who rob from the rich and give to the poor." her tone turned defiant, "And occasionally from the rich who aren't out for blood-like my father."

According to her father all pirates were robbers and murderers, but she refused to believe anything but the best about him. She tossed her long blond hair over her shoulder and ignored the fine droplets on her gown.
