Iago was nursing his injured hand when he heard the Marquis walking down the corridor. Frowning, he sat up slowly, his other hand going to his side, where the stitches were. He had no idea what the Marquis was doing down here, as he thought that he was going to just ignore him for a while.

But that conversation with Rex had annoyed him beyond anything. Rex was nothing like Judas. Nothing like that at all.

He waited for the Marquis to settle and then leaned forward. "I was thinking that I hate Crane," he said softly.

The soldier leaned back against the wall and raised a shoulder in a shrug. "You might be my warden, Marquis, but you're not the only warden. You're not the only one who is supposed to be setting an example." He ran his fingers through his hair, trying to push a few curls from his face.

"I had been biding my time for an opportunity like this."

Everything about the Marquis' body language, but for a few odd twitches and quirks that indicate pain, spelled revulsion. "Of course you were. But Crane is not a Warden, so get to the point. If you're going to start lying to me again, then when I give you more than a day to get your story straight, I expect you to come up with better."
