"Fuck." Barron said, rather succinctly summing up his feelings. It was damn hard to keep running with the roots and undergrowth yanking at his feet and clothes, attempting to pull him other, and harder yet to keep his balance with Prefect's death grip on his hand. But struggling hadn't done them much good before. And really, the dinosaurs that were no doubt so very close behind (and closing in?) were really the bigger problem here. But that didn't mean that Barron was entirely out of ideas ( ... )

Prefect cast a slightly panicked glance back at Barron, before knitting his brows in, expression simultaneously terrified and incredulous, "Comrade, don't you think that running might be a better way of getting out of this than-- than--"

He was distracted by a tree coming crashing down under the weight of some unseen monster, mere yards behind them. He accelerated, half staggering through the trees in his blind panic, "Will it work on them, Barron? Will your power actually work on Dinosaurs?"

"Of course they will!" Barron said, twisting around to look behind them as they ran. Whatever the hell had knocked that tree over much be strong. Not to mention big. This was not what Barron had signed up for. Worse, what he'd just said to Prefect was very much untrue. He had know idea if his power would work on the dinosaurs. But he wouldn't know until he tried. And if worse came to worse, well. He could give Prefect as a pleasant port death as could be expected. He'd think being eaten by the dinosaurs was a good thing.

"You have to ask the Admiral. Please." Barron added as he struggled to keep up with Prefect.

"Fine!" Prefect yelped, reaching into his pocket to fumble for his communicator as he ran. He did have a few misgivings about this, but honestly, he had to teach Barron how to use his powers responsibly, and avoiding dinosaur attacks seemed pretty responsible to Prefect!

He clicked at the communicator one handedly, as he continued to run, setting up a private filter to the Admiral, "Admiral? Please give Barron his powers back in full!" He glanced at Barron, "Comrade, this is just for the port. You can't have it back for good."
