Martha Jones had always loved the idea of Jurassic Park, it had been her favorite movie since she was a kid, and when she walked out and saw the overgrown visitor's center, she grinned. It was a broad grin that had forgotten about raptors and T-Rexs and electric fences and heat and humidity and giant bugs and all of that... it was the grin of a girl who wanted to feed brontosauruses and see all of the veggie ones.

"Oh my god." She announced the words with obvious glee. "Jurassic Park!"

Coyolxauhqui, however, didn't know a thing about Jurassic Park, so her warden's enthusiasm was a little lost on her. Dinosaurs didn't need to exist in her world, not when giant serpents were close relatives and the jaws of the underworld were, in fact, massive, horrid jaws that swallowed souls. The divinity was pleased to be off of the Barge and in the wilderness again though, especially in a place that felt so lush and tropic. It reminded her of the jungles to the south - a large temple certainly wouldn't look out of place in this environment.

She look a long glance at the forgotten visitors' center, approaching it with some hesitation. "People were once here, but they've been driven away," she said gravely.

"Yes," Martha agreed quickly. "They were. They've giant lizards here, called dinosaurs. They'd died out a long time ago, and according to Adric, they'd died out because of him." Sometimes her life was weird even by her standards. Shouldering the over-sized backpack she wore, Martha grinned and was glad that she'd worn khakis and hiking boots.

The walking and carrying (and even the worrying about being hunted that had started to creep in on her like an unwelcome guest) was familiar, and she touched the heavy backpack over her back. She had water and food and a tent and a medkit, but Martha wasn't worried. After all, she also did have a goddess who was with her.

"Humans bought them back to life using science, but they couldn't control it. It's going to be very dangerous for the next four days."

Trekking through the jungle!

A break had been overdue. The constant trekking had even exhausted the divinity, who decided to climb a tree and see if there were any rivers or streams nearby. She climbed and climbed and climbed, as high as she was able, spotting a very distant clearing, a fairly wide river, and, of course, more jungle.

Coyolxauhqui began to climb back down, stopping just a few branches short of the ground and perching herself comfortably in the shade. "There is a river," she called down to no one in particular.

Beatty was not having a good time. He had been attacked by a clearly dangerous (herbivore) dinosaur and had been without a cigarette for a long, long time. This was clearly not his port. He had taken to pacing the perimeter of their little area before he heard Coyolxauhqui's announcement.

"Of course there's a river," he said in a mutter, but that was just the stress talking. He was not in control of this situation at all and that bothered him. Immensely.

"A river is just going to attract more animals," he told her as he walked over to her tree. That wasn't historical knowledge at work- it was just common sense to him. "But it would lead out to the ocean."

Oh, look, it was the man who liked to burn books. Coyolxauhqui was secretly enjoying his company, if only because he was so funny when he was miserable.

She peered down at him from her spot in the shade, an amused little grin on her face. "But our water is low, and we all need a bath," she replied. "Animals run when they know a predator is close. We can run when they do."

SCARY DINO ADVENTURE - For Eddie first, then open for anyone! happinessboys July 19 2011, 02:02:27 UTC
Beatty had volunteered to scout ahead. The water was nearby, something he was grateful for, at least. It gave him a solid direction to go and a way to come back without getting lost. He kept the goddess' words in his head, though, about prey leaving when a predator was close. So he kept a watch on the other side of the river, just to see if those animals bolted.

He grew complacent when they didn't and trudged onward, stopping only when he heard a noise beside him. It must have spooked the smaller creatures beside him, as they scattered back into the jungle. Apprehensively, he turned, seeing an unknown dinosaur a little bigger than him. It didn't look entirely mature yet, but that didn't stop Beatty from panicking a bit. Especially as it rushed towards him. The fireman dove out of the way, landing in the mud and the water, calling out for help without consciously realizing it yet.

It was obviously going to eat him. He was sure this was the end. He turned away, not wanting to see the monster's giant teeth heading towards him.

SCARY DINO ADVENTURE happinessboys July 19 2011, 11:01:52 UTC
Beatty pulled a hand up from the muck, disgusted at the sight of it. This adventure was not giving him a good look. The dirt, the grime, the...everything...was more than a little off putting. Not that Beatty really cared about looks, but there was really only so far that he could go before the layers of mud, sweat and dirt just became overwhelming.

"You frightened it away?" He put too much venom in that statement, though and realized that he needed to regain control of himself or he was going to end up snapping. Standing up in the mud of the river, he waded completely back onto shore and tried to rub the mud from his hands onto his shirt.

"One can never be too careful with these beasts."
