Kaylee chose to ignore the last comment she'd seen on her entry, though coming to the library she was questioning leaving it public, now. Turned her stomach something unpleasant to see the Joker's reply, even though she knew he was the sort that would say something just for the sake of speaking. She hadn't needed that to feel apprehensive, however, so it was just one more thing to pile onto everything else.

"Hi," Kaylee said. She took a step toward him and took one of his hands in both of hers. It wasn't an unusual gesture on her part. One of the first apparent things about her was that she didn't seem afraid to touch anyone. It was simply a natural impulse on her part. "Come on. Let's find a place to sit down."

Q had witnessed entire civilisations rise and fall. Perhaps even been responsible for a few of the same. It was not so different, seeing the same revolution taking place within a single individual. It was just more... Microcosmic, rather than macrocosmic.

"Of course," relented Q, all welcoming politeness, although suspecting this might be one of those moments. 'Those' moments happened in just about every relationship dynamic.

Most people, however, came to regret requesting Q's being involved, when it came to their own.

"If this is about your wardening skills," interjected Q, before taking a seat, "you'd do better than to let idle rumours undermine them."

Kaylee sank down in the seat next to him, turning in it so she was still facing him. "It just gave me a reason to think about things I've been considering for a while now," she explained. Looking down at her hands, she crossed one ankle over the other and bit her lip. "Q, I think I'm going to request that you be transferred to another Warden," she admitted, deciding she's going to get right down to business. "I want to think that the Admiral put me with you because I was the one that could help you, but it's like we've never even taken the first step."

"No!"

The response was indignant and, by heaven, it was intended to be! Q stood to full height in protest and seemed genuinely surprised by the announcement.

"Y-y-you're not meant to leave!" He complained, arms crossed. "You're meant to watch over me! See to my needs! To be glad I'm not actively getting myself into trouble and give me gold stars for the privelage - gold stars, I say! You ask me to behave myself? Well, I'm behaving myself! You ask me to learn about humanity? Well, I... Granted, they're not the best of examples, but I'm observing, aren't I? I'm learning!"
