Sirius was stretched out on his stomach on James' neatly made bed, chin resting on his arms as he stared down at the unopened copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Surprisingly enough, his last bottle of firewhiskey was not at hand.

When the knock came, he automatically reached for his wand. He stood and went for the door, calling out a typical 'who's there' sort of greeting. Hearing Mozenrath, and something about all sorts of bad things being his fault, he frowned and opened the door. "What did I do now?"

It had only been an hour or two since his conversation with Snape over his journal, much less time since their uncomfortable conversation in his cabin, but Mozenrath looked a mess. Like he'd been up for days, in fact. Xerxes hovered close to his shoulders, concerned but quiet. "That's not the sound of you getting me a drink," he said tersely.

The eel circled him. "Master drink."

"Shut up, Xerxes."

Sirius raised an eyebrow. Without moving from his spot in front of Mozenrath, he flicked his wand toward a loose floorboard near the fireplace, just beyond the furry purple rug. The floorboard quivered and one end rose a few inches. "Accio firewhiskey," he ordered with another flick, holding out his free hand for the bottle. The bottle wiggled out of the gap and shot toward him. He caught it, opened the bottle, and handed it over. Merlin knew if he'd ever see another one, now that Wichita had decided he had a drinking problem. "Save some for me, will you? That may be the last one I ever have."

But he left it there, for now. Mozenrath was obviously upset. He moved aside so the sorcerer could come into the cabin and shut the door behind him. It was a bit cramped, what with the furniture for two, but at least that left plenty of places to sit. "Have a seat." He fished around in a cupboard until he found a pair of shot glasses. He placed them on one of the desks.

Mozenrath didn't bother waiting for the shot glasses and had already taken a small gulp before he found a place to sit down. He eyed the glasses, then glanced up at Sirius, frowning. "I'll reimburse you," he said. It wasn't really about the alcohol. He had his own. Of course, he didn't have to hide it like Sirius did, apparently. Not that he had floorboards to hide anything under. A cupboard did well enough, and 'out of sight' was not necessarily the same thing as 'hidden', right?
