Morning--Docking Bay scarlet_discord June 19 2011, 03:26:30 UTC
Wanda bounced ahead of Tony as she disembarked into the cavernous docking bay. "I am totally in a Cowboy Bebop episode, this is the most awesome thing ever!"

You can't hide from alien salesmen in the docking bay, Wanda. The moment you step into view, they're all around you, shoving their wares in your face.

"I will buy your memories!"

"Give me your clothing and I will give your credit!"

"Let me harvest your fur and we'll sell it to the Couture Guild!"

Tony hurried up behind her. "Nothing we have is for sale, so back off!"

Seriously, trying to buy clothing right off people's bodies? And what was with that memories thing?

Wanda let out a squeak and flailed slightly, feeling surrounded and wondering why that bothered her so very much. Bluish sparks started to dance around her hands, and a tremor ran through the air.

Then Tony hurried up behind her and backed the alien traders off, and she kept still until the blue sparks faded. It's okay. There's no need to use my powers, it's okay.

"No thank you," she choked out, and then looked at Tony sheepishly. "I'm sorry. I'll stick back with you better." She wasn't used to being chaperoned, but had just been introduced to the fact that she really needed it!

Before Lunch: SHOPPING. scarlet_discord June 19 2011, 03:28:20 UTC
Wanda could not find a bookstore, and finally asked someone. She got some funny looks, but finally someone pointed out a kiosk selling empty and preloaded datapads and a variety of e-novels, movies and music. She stared at the various selections, trying to make heads or tails of them.

Tony scanned them as well. "I guess just go by the picture and title?"

While there was no such thing as cover art anymore, per se, there were still small pictures to advertise different books and movies, likely because pretty images enticed people from any era.

"There's so much! OK, I'll start with the learning stuff and then glom onto the entertainment." She found the science and math section, selected a small datapad, and started downloading.

"Chaos theory. I want to see what they have on it. What sorta stuff do you like to watch?"

"Vampire movies."

And he wasn't too big on educational stuff, but he certainly wasn't going to discourage it.

Lunch (for Hayley) scarlet_discord June 19 2011, 03:30:36 UTC
Wanda sat herself down at the corner cafe and looked around at the variety of people around her. It was kind of comforting; half of them at least could have been mutants. She took up the menu...and eyed it dubiously. "Ok, whatever this stuff is, apparently getting extra tentacles on it is ten credits."

After Lunch--More wandering through the shopping district scarlet_discord June 19 2011, 03:34:28 UTC
Now Wanda was eyeing up cheap jewelry and clothes, having managed to grab a nice pair of boots earlier. She was looking at things so intensely that she almost bumped into someone.

There was a squeak, and Chromie almost fell over - it doesn't take much to unbalance someone that only weighs 45 pounds.

"Oh - watch where you're going!"

"Ohmygods. Ohmygods, I am soooo sorry!" She wasn't rude enough to steady the smaller woman with her hands, but instead covered her mouth with them while she blushed like crazy and looked down. "I wasn't looking and I'm not used to these boots!"

"It's alrigh- Oh! You're from the Barge, aren't you?"

She immediately looked relieved, and stepped in closer to Wanda as if she was a rock in a very violent river of people.

"It's quite alright, Wanda. I'm not used to so many people..."

Afternoon--At An Alien Soda Fountain (for Luke) scarlet_discord June 19 2011, 03:37:31 UTC
Wanda was finally starting to feel a little tired from all the excitement. This place LOOKED like a dessert shop, and should have sodas or whatever passed for them here. But when she looked around at the bubbling, frothing, glowing drinks around her, she started looking a little dubious..."I wonder which ones have caffeine?"

"And I wonder which ones won't melt me from the inside out."

He asks with a wary glance from behind her, looking at the various substances as well.

"I gotta ask." She waved a waitress over. "Scuse me, Miss, which ones of these are safe for humans?"

"First page only," the mound of purple and orange tentacles said boredly in a schoolmarmish but slightly gurgly voice.

"Ok, cool." She looked down at the datapad menu again. "Oh hey, there's footage of the drinks next to each entry. They look like something out of a mad scientist's lab, don't they?"

Luke was a little distracted by the waitress...where the hell did she talk from?!

"Huh? Oh yeah, definitely some Doctor Frankenstein stuff. Anything looking appetizing to you?" He looks over he shoulder at the menu, skimming overh the different entries.
