Arthas was busy - or at least, not engaged in the sort of business she needed to be present for - and Shego was investing the time off in a bit of shopping. The place was a goldmine for the sort of craftsmanship not offered in better-regulated waystations, and there were some jobs that required more subtlety than her plasma blasters.

She was going from one successful transaction to what would hopefully be the venue of the next, cutting through a dark service passage, when she became aware of someone nearby. A mugger? Surely nobody was so stupid. She left it only long enough to confirm she was being trailed before reaching into her coat, pointing her sidearm unerringly into the darkness she'd just left behind.

Creeping around behind Shego probably wasn't the best idea, considering his current circumstances, but Jim had been waiting for an opportune moment to make his approach. Step forward too quickly or speak too openly, and there was a good chance she wouldn't take his offer seriously, or worse, that she'd suspect he was trying to trick her and turn him down. When she pointed her weapon at him, it became apparent that his time waiting for the right opportunity had expired, so it was with a professional smile on his face, that Jim finally dug the credit chip he'd filched from the Doctor out of his pocket, and stepped forward into the light,

"It's Shego, isn't it? I was hoping for the chance to talk business with you."

He gestured towards her gun, keeping the credit chip easily visible, "That shouldn't be necessary, but if it makes you more comfortable, feel free to keep it pointed at me."

"Don't patronize me, you slick little creep. What do you want?"

"What? No pleasantries?" Jim glanced to the side, pursing his lips as if disappointed, "All right, being as I'm hoping to enlist your services, I won't object. I need you and your colleague, Arthas, to take a holiday for a couple of weeks. Go as far away from here as you can, for whatever reason you can think of. I'll pay for everything, and when you go?" He twisted the credit chip in his fingers lightly, "You take this with you."

The end of a long day. She could have slept on Menethil's ship, but she spent too long cooped up between the four walls of her cabin and if she was going to get paid enough to patronize the fanciest hotel available on the station then she was damned well going to. The ship was a vault, anyway: nobody was going to get to Arthas there, and if they tried then they'd have her lumpen scowling colleague to deal with - not to mention Arthas himself, who was no pushover.

At nearly midnight, she stepped into her room, uncharacteristically mellow after a decent meal and a massage - but it didn't last. There was something about the room that felt subtly....off, and she coiled into a state of tense readiness within moments.

There was definitely something off, and that something was hiding in the room in body armor with a very big blaster, ready and waiting for Shego to come back.

He'd been on this particular assignment for a while, tracking and finding information, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike, and finally, he'd found it. After showing up on OS19, he'd asked the right questions and finally gotten tipped off that she would be staying in this hotel, and it had taken a surprising lack of effort to break in here.

So now he was just lying in wait, blaster trained on the doorframe, patiently waiting for her to make a further move into the apartment. The last thing he wanted was to startle her into running back into the hallway.

She hadn't liked the layout of the suite when she'd been shown in earlier. The space was L-shaped around the bathroom, and her first thought had been of how easy it would be to kill someone staying there. Maybe that thought had made her paranoid. Maybe.

She took another step, every muscle already primed to drop her to the floor at the first hint of trouble.

And that's when he decided to make his move.

Moving quickly and silently, he crossed the distance between them, gun pressed against her spine.

"Hi, Shego. I wouldn't make any sudden moves."

So, maybe he had a flair for the dramatic.
