A day in the life

What: A day in the (fairly boring) life, because I need to get back in the game, yo.
When: All day.
Where: All over the Barge.

9AM - BREAKFAST

[Chloe is dressed casually but impeccably. She doesn't look tired and if anyone looks at her, she'll give them a small, bright smile. She gets herself a plate of dry toast and a cup of coffee and then looks for a place to sit.]

10:30AM - ON DECK

[Time for a walk! She spends some time wandering around near the railings and looking out into space, and then peers in at the plants in the greenhouse, her hands cupped close to the glass.]

[Jane's on her way to check on their colour garden when she sees Chloe on deck. She hadn't had much contact with her inmate in a while, especially with everything that was happening, so now seemed a good time to actually...try and do something.]

Good morning, Chloe. [She at least is able to have a smile for her.]

[Chloe jumps a little when Jane speaks. She turns to look at her warden, dropping her hands to her sides. After a moment, she returns the smile, but there's something slightly off about it.]

[Jane doesn't know Chloe well enough yet to detect a real smile from one that's not so real, so she doesn't comment on it. Instead, she glances to the glass and then back to the other woman.]

What are you doing? Just...looking?

NOON - LUNCH

[Chloe makes a point of choosing a table with people sitting at it this time. Her plate is full but she only picks at it, doing her best to listen to the conversations around her while looking like she's not.]

This is when "Afternoon Delight" starts playing...

Jim decides to slid into the seat next to her, just because he can. Because she's pretty and he's only a human male and the Barge is feeling a little claustrophobic lately. Hitting on a pretty girl has always made him feel a little more alive in the past.

"Hey you."

That made me laugh a silly amount. :c

"Hey yourself."

Carelessly brushing her hair back from her face, Chloe smiles at him, a smile that says she enjoys the attention. Her voice is warm. Kirk is someone who buys into what she's selling, and that's a good thing. She'll encourage the flirting.

To be honest, Kirk would probably buy what she was selling even if he knew she was going to play him. He has stupidly low standards.

"Have you been settling in okay?"

3:30PM - LEVEL 5 COMMON ROOM

[After a quick visit to the library, she stops in the common room. She tucks her legs neatly up under herself in one of the chairs and cradles a book of poetry in her hands. For once, she isn't completely putting on a show.]

5PM - HALLWAYS

[It's time to go get ready for the evening, so she's making her way back to her room on Level 2 to spruce up. She runs her fingers through her hair as she walks.]

[LEVEL TWO, YOU SAY. Crane's walking the other way along the corridor, intent on going up to the dining hall. He gives Chloe a slightly confused look. Crane isn't sure if he's see her around the barge before.]

[The confused look makes her pause. She hasn't spoken to this man before, right?] Hey? I don't think I've seen you around before.

I haven't seen you around. [Crane sounds ever so slightly hostile.] How long have you been here?
