0930 - BREAKFAST sixthanimorph June 1 2011, 19:53:12 UTC
Okay, so maybe all day is an exaggeration. David's certainly grabbing breakfast as himself. He looks tired but grinning and satisfied, like a kid who stayed up all night to beat a tough video game. One benefit of morphing - he can eat enough to fill himself up as David and he'll still be full as Bourne. He's got a big bowl of cereal and orange juice - nothing too fancy.

He picks his usual spot, a table in one of the corners, allowing him to see everyone coming in from the main doors while himself being concealed by the mass of people coming and going through the line.

It's one of the tables Simon favours himself. The lack of exposure makes him feel more comfortable and he likes being able to watch as people come and go. He smiles tentatively as he spots David there. He doesn't know him well, but he does like him. He doesn't think David minds him, so it's only after a little hesitation he takes the seat next to him after carefully putting down his cereal.

"Hi."

David looks up and manages a grin as Simon sits down. No, he doesn't mind him. And he's genuinely proud of himself for keeping the new arrival from having to get involved in the messy business of kidnapping his warden. Guy didn't need to deal with that after only a few weeks on the Barge.

"Morning," David says between mouthfuls of cereal. He's eating like he hasn't eaten in days.

Simon's rather more careful with his own cereal, each mouthful slow and precise, though he doesn't seem put off by David's own enthusiasm with his food.

"Have you been all right?" he asks, holding his spoon still as he watches David or a response. Not the most exciting topic (and David certainly seems okay), but it's a start.

The best part of being a warden? Having free run of the CES. David's fallen in love with the place. It's almost worth all the trouble he went through to get to this point just to have access to it. He's made it a point to come here every day he can, sometimes multiple times in one day.

He's here as Bourne, and anybody who comes into the CES will see he's transfigured it into the Florida Keys. Has Bourne, the real Bourne, ever been here? David doesn't know, and he doesn't particularly care. He has. Clad only in swimming trunks, 'Bourne' is swimming a few feet under the water, surfacing as often as his body needs - which is a lot less than he would need to surface as himself.

'Bourne' was in a dive when Claire came in, completely submerged under the water. He was remembering the times he'd been to the Keys as a kid, when his dad had been working in Pensacola. They'd even gone scuba diving once, and he couldn't help but wonder if it was possible to get scuba diving equipment on the Barge. Hey, he was a warden, right? If it was possible, he could do it.

Diving down and then up to the surface, 'Bourne' breaks the surface with a laugh, water flying. It takes him a moment to hear someone's shouting Bourne's name - his name. He turns his head, offering a wave and a welcoming grin. Hey, it's Claire! While he wasn't expecting someone to come in, he certainly wasn't complaining. Claire had been friendly to him back on the island, even if they hadn't really talked since he'd tried to kill Bourne as a jaguar. Somehow he didn't think that went over too well with her.

"Long time no see, Claire," he says as he swims back to the shallow ends where Claire is. He knows it's been a little while, because he was sure to ( ... )

1215 - LUNCH sixthanimorph June 1 2011, 19:54:41 UTC
Fresh from his swim session in the CES, 'Bourne' is grinning and loading up his tray with burgers, fries and pickles - fatty food that the real Bourne would eat sparingly, if at all.

He's got a jaunty, very not-Bourne swagger to his step, and he swings his leg over his chair as he sits down and goes to work.

Rex is right about to enjoy a celebratory bite of a peanut butter and banana sandwich that he made from the usual snack table fare, not because he's such a huge fan of Elvis, but because he figures he should eat something special to commemorate a pretty good start to his day (no more kitchen duty, and his position in the infirmary restored, hooray), and pickings were kind of slim. This was as special as he could make it with what was available, and like hell he was going to celebrate with something as common as a burger. He deserved to eat like a king-- and, in the absence of any fare fit for a king, he'd settle for food fit for the King and--

Hey, why's somebody sitting a few seats down from him? And why does it have to be Bourne? And why is he eating so much junk? (Glass houses, Rex.)

And so, Rex gives the other man a thinly veiled look of judgment. That meal... Ew. Say what you will about Rex's questionable sandwich, but at least he's got a plate of vegetables to go with it.

Oh. It's Rex. This is just too good. 'Bourne' had just settled in, but when he sees Rex staring down at him with a slight curl to his lip, he just looks up and offers the inmate a smirk. In his mind, it's the same slight little smirks he thinks he's seen the real Bourne give him. In practice, it's an expression much more likely to cross Bourne's evil twin Colin Sullivan than one you'd ever see on the real Bourne.

Still smirking, 'Bourne' picks up his burger, dripping with ketchup, and takes a huge bite. The expression on his face says it all: Soooooo good.

Rex blinks, slightly taken aback by Bourne's smirk, if only because his interactions with the man-- brief as they were-- typically involved a lot of linefacing on Bourne's part. He tears off a bite-sized piece of his sandwich, because that's how he rolls with his food, and gives the whole ketchup-dripping-burger thing a disgusted look.

"You may need a napkin, Bourne,' he remarks before popping the piece of sandwich into his mouth.

He's getting a little tired from the morphing and demorphing - three times an hour means he's had to morph over a dozen times today alone - but Bourne's stamina is excellent even if his own is not. Every time he returns to his warden's body, it's like his exhaustion is wiped away.

He's setting a brisk pace on the treadmill, mainly just reveling in the things he can do in this body - it's like being one of the big cats he morphs so often, only still a human too.

Hoffman has been spending a lot more time in the gym then he was used to. It's taken some getting used to but he's adapting. So when he spots David-Bourne-he walks over to introduce himself.

The biggest adaptation is the two day old stubble criss-crossing his face that's doing a poor job of hiding his scar, "...Don't think we've met before."

Don't be alarmed Bourne. He's just checking in.

Emotions flicker across Bourne's face that would never be seen on the genuine article - surprise, then a broad smile.

Then he remembers. They're being watched. Stay professional.

This is like being checked up on by a teacher. Except he doesn't really mind it.

"Don't believe we have," he says, keeping his voice casual as he extends his hand for a handshake. "Jason Bourne."

Hoffman's handshake is very firm. He smiles, all businesslike and-encouraging? Yes it's there.

"Working hard?"

The gym turned out to be a little bit more hopping than he expected. 'Bourne' is crossing the deck quickly, looking for a place to demorph. And fast. He's only got a few minutes left in morph.

Will had something of a headache, which was nothing new these days. So much stress and worry. He wandered up to the deck for some peace and quiet. He missed the thunderstorms in Florida. They were a relaxing thing to watch on the porch or-

"Excuse me," he said automatically when he felt his shoulder bump into someone else's. He paused in his step and turned to look after the other, a confused expression on his features. "Are you okay?" It wasn't often one saw someone in such a hurry on the deck.

He's so distracted, he doesn't even see the guy until he's bumped into him. He turns to offer the token apology and get going, and then he sees who it is. Talk about blasts from the pasts, it's Will Graham. Will Graham. For a moment the stoic Bourne-ness leaves his face and he's caught with a total deer-in-the-headlights look.

It's only on his face for a second, and then the stoic mask comes up.

"I'm fine," 'Bourne' nods, inwardly just looking for some excuse - any excuse - to exit the conversation fast. Will Graham isn't his idea of someone to talk to at the best of times. Right now he's a frustrating roadblock. "Just... something I had at lunch isn't agreeing with me."

The odd expression caught him by surprise. He knew Bourne from the network only, had never actually met the man in person (meals not included) but his features, gone already, visible so briefly, was like a red flag being waved. It's signaling... what? He's not sure.

And its bothering him. He knows he saw something off.

"Oh. Right." He replied neutrally enough. The mask was one he'd seen a thousand times. Always someone acting just a little too tough.

But, Bourne was a warden. So why the red flag? The feeling he was missing something just out of reach?

"Why are you on the deck, then?" Will ask in a casual tone, his own features guarded. The drink hadn't dulled what cop instinct took years to build.
