Buffy was nervous. That old feeling of the heart-pounding, butterfly-inducing, nauseating anxiety and excitement. But she wasn't afraid. It was Spike. The one person who she didn't have to worry about what she said or how she acted. ..Mostly. The entire situation was even less typical than what she was used to. And that was saying something. She had thought he was dead, but surprise, he wasn't. Now they were on a space boat redeeming badguys so they could be granted wishes. And she'd finally told him how she felt. Today, she needed to make sure she didn't just bask in the glow of the fun part- the part before the eventual unbearable pain- and tell him exactly what was going on. Her reservations, her thoughts, and most of all, let him know that yeah, she had meant it.
She entered the CES wearing a casual, practical, but stylish outfit. The place was a giant meadow of grass and wildflowers. And it was daylight. Fake, of course, but she'd only ever seen Spike in the sun that once
( ... )
Spike was lounging on a blanket, head tilted towards the sun. He didn't immediately look over when she approached, though he knew she was there. "I hadn't thought of that," he said, eyes still closed. "Wonder if I could."
He opened his eyes and looked over at her. He smiled softly. "Buffy, you look lovely." He stood up to greet her. "I'm glad you came."
She arrived near him and stopped, looking at their surroundings before focusing back on him and smiling softly.
"Well, y'know, I was gonna go glare at Elric some more, but.. This seemed like more fun." Buffy looked down at the blanket and saw the food. "Ooh! Food." She quickly knelt down on the blanket.
Spike nodded and sat back down. "I already ate," he informed her, grabbing a sandwich. "So, you know, you won't be put off your meal." Of course, he still intended to eat with her. But the food he ate here wasn't blood and wouldn't really do much except taste good. "How is the old soul-sucker doing?"
