Who: Heero and Ariadne Where: The infirmary. When: After Adam gets taken care of. What: Heero wakes up from his coma and promptly tries escaping. :| Warnings: Nope!
This week had really taken a toll on Ariadne. All the turmoil and drama going on in her life distracted her from what was truly important: Heero.
She didn't know what was more disturbing: the fact that the reasons for his coma were unknown or the fact that barely anyone cared. She was unsatisfied with the answers given to her since none of them were really helpful. In fact, she felt even more helpless after her journal post. Asking questions wasn't enough, and visiting the infirmary constantly felt useless really. Still, she continued to do so.
As she walked into the infirmary, she heard the rustling of sheets. Could it be? Rushing, she found Heero trying to get off the bed. "Heero!"
Heero immediately tensed at Ariadne's approach, obviously recognizing her, but still reacting much as a wary stray cat, eyes narrowed slightly in suspicion. He didn't stop trying to stand up and managed to drag himself to his feet, still sort of leaning on the bed, but trying to hide it. Vulnerability wasn't really an option for him, and he was reluctant to admit he wasn't exactly feeling 100%.
Noticing his reaction, she cautiously approached the bed. She didn't want to scare him. After waking up from a deep state of unconsciousness, he must have felt really wary. That meant he must have felt exhausted as well.
"You've been in a coma for a couple days now," she answered. With a firm tone, she added, "You shouldn't be getting out of bed yet. Don't you feel tired?"
It was more stubbornness than anything else, and the fact that he hadn't actually moved away from the bed yet spoke to his actual fatigue. It was taking him a minute to really get his bearings, but he was relying on Ariadne not being as good at reading body language as he was and therefore not notice he was actually tired, not to mention just how uncomfortable he was hanging around here.
"How long?" Which was mostly just more stalling for his inevitable escape. As soon as he got back to his room and had his communicator back, he would be able to put the pieces together on how much time he'd lost.
