Costigan was just returning from the showers after his morning run. He was in navy blue sweatpants and a white t-shirt, hair still wet with a small duffel bag slung over his shoulder. He glanced down at something in the carpet, seemingly a piece of gum or a coin or something, and looked up just in time to see himself almost bumping into Saito as her rounded the corner to head up the stairs.
"Sorry," he offered quickly, slipping around the man and beginning to walk up the stairs. He had the North Shore accent at present, meaning very little accent at all.
Saito's going to feed himself or something similar, going through the motions of getting from one place to the other without much thought to where he's walking. And sadly he can do many things, but he can't see around corners, so much like Costigan, he sees the collision too late.
"Excuse me, I--" Polite apology cut short as the other slides past and continues, all too familiar and just maybe... "One moment." It's barked out, authoritative and bordering on an order. A complete contrast to his previous words.

Costigan's already on his way, basically ignoring the obligatory apologies both ways until the other words come. He stops after another step, the military man in him making him listen to the authoritative command, even if it's not from a superior. He turns around, crossing his arms over his chest primarily to hide the scars on his arms but also to appear a little more authoritative himself.
"You want to order me around some more?" He asked flippantly, not wanting the man to think he was going to listen to any more commands. Costigan didn't even recognize the man and he wasn't about to be punished by some power hungry warden just for taking a corner too fast.
