Hayley started getting ready hours after dinner. There was a walking stick stashed in the back of her closet that she'd gotten from the CES forever ago, with Pavel, and had practically forgotten about. It was the last thing she really had from him, but killing Franklin was more important right now. Hayley needed to find justice somewhere. She broke the stick over her knee to create a jagged break and took half of it with her. For once, she wasn't wearing her red jacket or even Sam's hunting jacket. The girl was in an over-sized t-shirt that had some sports team on it, one her dad had given her forever ago that she had never cared to wear. It was something she didn't mind getting dirty.

The girl made her way quickly and quietly through the halls late in the night, when most would already be asleep. She moved to the room that Franklin had said was his and knocked very quietly at the door. The last thing she needed was his neighbors awakening and coming to investigate if he decided to make some noise.

Hayley very slowly started coming down from her cortisol high and, seeing Capa react as he did, she began shaking slightly without even realizing that she was. Her voice was still almost even, however. "Franklin? I didn't--"

She had to stop herself and swallow, oblivious that her eyes were beginning to water slightly. "He's an inmate. His warden left." Hayley let out a very small laugh completely void of humor. "I told him he had to kill himself.. to make it right. For everyone he'd killed. He's a vampire, I thought.. I thought it would be a cloud of dust or something. I never.."

Her breath hitched in her chest and she found she couldn't continue, hugging the over-sized shirt to herself as her hands wrapped around her stomach. She was beginning to feel sick as well.

Capa was beginning to get control of himself and turned to her sternly. He wasn't sure what the "right" thing to do would be, but he had to do something. He couldn't just stand there.

"I'll handle this right now. You go to my room. Shower, find something else to wear and then just wait. Do you understand me? Don't talk to anyone until I come back."

Hayley had turned to stare at the mess, but his voice pulled her back to looking at him again almost immediately. It took her a moment to actually register her words, during which she shook her head. Then nodded. "Oh-- okay. I will. Yeah. You're right. I'll go to your room."

Whether what he had said had actually sunken in or she was just spitting his words back at him in an automatic process, there must have been some recognition, because she tightened her arms around herself and actually spoke up. "Should I.. Go to Crane's first? To get clothes? Your room is really far."

"No," he told her sternly. "Go straight to my room." He walked over towards the middle of the room and just put his hands on his hips, his body tense. He was ignoring the blood for now in favor of trying to think this situation over. Hayley was either in some form of shock and he knew that he needed to deal with her, but he was hoping to give her some time to just be away from it before he assaulted her with questions.

"Right now." He didn't turn to face her.

"Okay." It was all the reply she made before unlocking the door and opening it. She paused for another beat to look at him, some part of her realizing something about the way he was reacting was going to mean bad things for her later, before she slipped out the door and into the hall. Luckily there seemed to be no one readily apparent at this time of night, so she hurried for the elevator to make her way back to Capa's. She paused there, then quickly removed her shoes, afraid of leaving a trail that might get Capa in trouble, and started climbing the stairs instead, figuring the elevator was more likely to be in use when people were drowsy and fatigued.

Only by some miracle did she make it back unmolested, leaving almost no sign of blood behind her. As soon as she was safely inside his room, she dropped her shoes and started silently crying, feeling how badly her hands were shaking now. But she did precisely as she was told to do and headed for the shower.
