[Martha had mostly missed dinner, but she'd manage to grab a bit of what was left over and she brought it down to Severus's room, knocking on his door.]

[Not for the first time, as he crossed the room to answer the door, Snape wondered why she bothered knocking. He rarely expected anyone else at this hour.

Then again, it wasn't out of the realm of imagination that there might be a ward or two on the door to keep out uninvited guests.

At the sight of her food, he snorted.]

You're a long way off from the dining hall.

I know, but I decided that I wanted to have dinner with you, and considering I missed dinner? Here I am.

[Martha grinned quickly at him and then took a seat on the settee, tucking her feet up below her as she balanced the plate on her lap. She was reasonably certain that this was probably annoying, but she didn't care.]
