Who: Agent K and Whoever What: A Day in the Life of a workaholic Where: All around the Barge. What: See above. Warnings & Notes: No hostility really planned for this. Just catching up on some CR. Language warnings 'cause... well, it's you know who.

Kay sat at his usual place, waiting for Uhura or anyone similar. Today he plans on taking it relatively easy, and has a dictionary of Xitsonga out to beef up on his pronunciation. His plate was emptied pretty quickly, and is sitting abandoned as he flips through pages and drinks his coffee.

Here on reconnaissance, Holmes spots Kay with one of his plethora of language books, and decides that perhaps his casual quarry can wait. Slipping out of his hiding place, Holmes makes his way over to Kay's table to greet. After all, he can watch just as well in plain view as he can from the shadows.
"Good day, Agent Kay." Getting a closer look at the book, Holmes' interest is piqued. "A curious volume."

He glanced up at Mr. Holmes, and folded his hands together primly on the book. "Yeah, I've just been losing track of my Bantu languages. Not a lot of opportunities to use them." And his head kept getting filled up with so much other nonsense.
"Saw you were having some trouble with the inmate."
Re: 10:00 am Breakfastso_meretriciousJanuary 18 2011, 05:24:32 UTC
Holmes waves both hands dismissively. "It is but a simple rebellion, hardly unexpected or surprising. It is regrettable that he mistakes my own former vice as viable ammunition."
"Bantu?" Holmes asks, after running it through his mind. "Not...terrestrial, I imagine."

Dress shirts and various boxer-like undergarments need washing. So he's in the laundry room watching the machine boredly, mulling over what weapon needs recharging and what he should do to replace the pictures whose frames broke. He needs those positions filled.

Sarah entered not long after, carrying a small duffel bag. It was her intention to do some of her laundry and then head off to bed, if she could manage to sleep. Returning to her nocturnal schedule would be better for her inmate, or so she assumed
Unfortunately, it seemed to be a given on the Barge that people had insomnia.
She gave Kay a tight smile before emptying the contents of the bag - two button-down flannel shirts, two pair of khaki trousers, and some miscellany - into a washing machine.
"Comfort in the mundane?" It seemed almost strange to be doing something as normal as laundry after the week gone by.

"Mmm." Just a thoughtful little noise as he leaned on the nearest laundry table and watched the machines. "I guess."
Then, a moment later, an almost smirk. "So, this vampire woman, crazy as a loon, she decides that she's gonna do this bullshit where she puts a love potion in people's drinks? I end up with Sexby saving me from the dryer." He inclined his head toward the very dryer that might have been his undoing. "You know that 'kathunk' noise dryers start making when the cylinder catches? Apparently that was going to be my undoing."
He still had some plain black socks he needed to wash.

There was only a slight turn of her head as she poured in the detergent to indicate that she was surprised that he had just launched himself into his tale the way he had.
"A propos of nothing but the sound of the dryers," she replied, her smile widening a bit. "How chivalrous of Angelica."

Rather than the gym, he decided that he would use the CES as a sort of high difficulty obstacle course and was gifted quite fortunately with some rough woodland terrain. So he's scrambling through the growth, chasing some imaginary combatant like a cat with an invisible mouse.
04:00 pm Reading in the Common Roommost_fearedJanuary 18 2011, 04:21:21 UTC
He has his earpiece in on his communicator, only half paying attention to the noise of open conversations as he's reading a book by Jack Horner. The man had good theories but couldn't write worth shit. Bakker was usually a better read.
07:00 pm On the way to the Pubmost_fearedJanuary 18 2011, 04:22:29 UTC
He decided that it was time to head for his usual evening hang-out. It covered the noise of conversation pretty well and a beer usually did him good. He's reading over information on his communicator as he walks.
