Patience had paid off, it seemed. West had remained largely quiet since the end of the black out, and he stayed away from making too many overt allusions to revenge. And as Clapet's guard slowly went down again, West simply watched him. He remained patient, observing the man as he settled back into a routine, and saying nothing. He played the part of the model inmate until the moment seemed right.

And when Clapet left the confines of his room to enter the showers, West was ready. He selected a wine bottle that had been left over from one of many gifts he'd received on the Barge, and gave it ten minutes before leaving his room and waiting near the door to the showers. The moment the butcher stepped out, West was going to strike with the bottle, aiming for the head. Hopefully, it would be enough to stun the man long enough for the soldier to shatter the glass and truly get to work.

Without putting much rational thought behind it-- acting purely on the feelings raging inside of him-- West drew the broken glass along the butcher's throat with brutal efficiency. It wasn't a clean cut, but it would do. Then, just like that, he released him, lowering the makeshift weapon and watching. There wasn't much time to see this through to the end; no doubt somebody would come by soon.

Let them. He didn't care. He knew it was only a matter of time before he was caught, and he was willing to accept time in Zero for this. This was done for Billy... and for his boys.

Clapet staggered forward a little, only pulled by gravity and nothing else, and collapsed, stone-cold dead within seconds, onto the corridor.

West watched the body for signs of life, then, satisfied, walked into the bathroom to drop the broken, bloodied bottle into one of the rubbish bins. With that done, he returned to his room, careful to not get any blood on the doorknob. He hoped to at least look presentable by the time Morgan came around to haul him to Zero.

Spending a week covered in blood, after all, was hardly ideal.
