murder the first - Billy and knife delivery. 453gof_flesh November 16 2010, 13:04:05 UTC
Before he could do anything, Clapet needed a knife. He waited patiently for Billy to bring him one. Of course, as soon as it was handed over, the other man was going to be in for a surprise.

He'd intended to kill him so long ago, but it had been botched, and now... well, now it worked so perfectly. Provided he turned up with a knife. If he didn't have a knife, his plan was to tell anyone else who showed up that Donny had been and confiscated everything.

Donny did know his room was empty, just like everyone else's.

Billy was more or less used to the Barge. Hell, he actually liked the Barge. He liked being with West, he liked hanging with Loki, he liked having bragging rights to knowing a bunch of big name villains in person... he even liked most of the ports, now, he'd seen more of the universe on the Barge than he would have done in his whole lifetime if he hadn't been on board.

Besides, he was kind of past worrying about the people. You stayed away from psycho's like Arthas and the Joker, made enough friends that no one wanted to mess with your backup, and from there you could more or less associate with whoever you wanted. You could generally tell pretty quickly who was out to get you and who was just your average inmate.

What he didn't like was stuff that messed with the people he liked, and sad to say that the people who Billy spent the most time with right now? Were the ones stuck babysitting the food because the rest of the Barge couldn't be trusted.

Billy may not have been too concerned about the Barge breaking? But he was ( ... )

Clapet was pleased that Billy had come. He was a little afraid he wouldn't, a little afraid that his loyalty to people like Paddy would overtake his desire to provide more food for the rest of the Barge. But... well, Clapet could make all the offers he wanted to Billy, because Billy was the food for the rest of the Barge.

He answered the door with a generous smile, "Come in. It's not in here, I've hidden things elsewhere. But..." He lowered his voice, "The knife?"

It had been such a long time, it seemed, since he had a knife in his hands. He was looking forward to it immensely.

"Yeah! It's right here!"

Billy replied quickly, stepping into Clapets room in a couple of quick movements. Bringing his hand to his sleeve, he carefully began to ease the knife free from the material of his lab coat, being careful not to cut the inside of his arm in the process, "So how did you manage to get food past the Admiral? I honestly figured he was just planning on popping up any day telling us that this was an important lesson in learning to share."

There, the knife was loose! Billy took the blade carefully between his fingers, and offered it, handle first to the Butcher.

murder the second - blonsky and the bonfire. 453gof_flesh November 16 2010, 13:09:34 UTC
Clapet had taken his apron off, as now it was covered in blood - he'd only stuffed it in his back pocket, as there was nowhere else to put it. He'd stolen a few things from the common room down the hall (which everyone else was doing across the ship, so it was hardly unusual) and built a small bonfire in the corner of his room. He'd hidden what was left of Billy in the bottom of the fire, and was now awaiting his second victim.

Whilst poking the cuts of his first victim around on top of the fire, occasionally sticking his knife into one and trying it. Hm. Needed salt.

Clapet opened the door and nodded for him to come inside, "Sorry for the smoke. I'm trying to cook a little." Also, the smoke made the bloodstains on his floor far less obvious. He had the knife in his hand, but he'd cleaned all the blood off. He stood, holding the door, hoping to get Blonsky from behind. He knew the other man was strong, so he needed the element of surprise.

a brief interlude - the goddess and some cleaning. 453gof_flesh November 16 2010, 13:14:41 UTC
Clapet knew he had a reasonable amount of time before the next person showed up, so he ventured out of his room with a bloody cloth tucked under his arm. It was his apron, now covered in two men's blood, and wrapped around a very particular piece of them. He was going to deliver them to Coyolxauhqui without explanation, then return to clean his room up a little. The blood stains didn't really matter when people were going to die anyway, but when he was going to trade this stuff? It needed to be clean.

That involved finding a supply of water. It might be a little difficult.

Coyolxauhqui had left the infirmary to spend some time alone in the confines of her cabin. She wasn't sleeping, but instead was sat on the empty floor praying. The goddess knew that her prayers were going unheard, and that she no longer had any connection to her brothers, but she continued to try. It was even more difficult now that her altar had been removed from her, and she felt more wounded than she knew how to properly express in words alone.

She sat singing softly to herself in the dark, just quietly mourning and letting her loneliness overwhelm her.

Clapet found his way to her room in the dark, and knocked on the door with his free hand. The apron was tied up as best as he could, because there was too much blood on these particular cuts of meat to even think of using the bits of paper he'd managed to scrape together in a common room. Even so, with all the killing he'd been doing, they were dripping onto his hand through the cloth.

She better be in.

She had been expecting him, but the knock on her door still took her by surprise, as she had lost track of time and didn't know how long she had been sitting on her floor in prayer. Coyolxauhqui stood and pulled open her door, her eyesight having adjusted well to the darkness and immediately recognizing Clapet's presence in her doorway.

She smelt the blood on him, but just to be sure, she pulled her communicator from her belt and held it up to shine some light on the both of them.

attempted murder - saffron and donny being a hero. 453gof_flesh November 16 2010, 13:17:57 UTC
It had actually been a relatively short period of time. Clapet didn't normally aim to get three victims at once, but he had a lot more people to feed. He poked a little more of the 'meat' around the fire and waited for victim number three. Names were a stupid thing to use at this point.

It was only like calling a cow 'Daisy', he supposed. Or something. That wasn't worth thinking about at this point. Once the deed was done, it was done.

Saffron didn't like to think of herself as a needy sort of person. She had survived for months once with only the food she could beg, trick or steal from unwitting folk, and she had come out of that stronger than she had been before. But the truth was, she wasn't used to this "survivalism" stuff, not any more. Since coming aboard the barge she had slipped into a life of relative luxury with food magically doled onto her plate at mealtimes and friends who seemed to have endless supplies of delicious treats from their home worlds. This flood-or whatever it was-had blindsided her, and she was desperate ( ... )

Clapet checked his watch, then got up. He'd got some of the blood stains out of the floor boards and off his hands, but if you were paying attention, they were still pretty obvious. That didn't worry him, this one was due to die too. This was the point where he had to stop thinking of her by her name, just as... well, he didn't know what she did, so thinking of her as 'grandmaman' or 'clown' or any of the epithets he applied to other people wasn't easy ( ... )

If Saffron's eyes had been keen enough to pick out the bloodstains, she was certainly too busy being dazzled by the firelight to pay much attention. Her hand came up to shield her eyes just briefly, before dropping so that she could offer Clapet a smile. It was a watery smile, and it betrayed entirely too easily just how glad she was to see the man.

"I'll eat it out of a dog bowl at this point," she said, following her words with a blunt little laugh. "Thanks for having me." A pause. "I'm surprised people aren't queuing for miles."
