[When the lights flicker and die, Snape crosses to the door of his room and opens it to a similarly darkened corridor. A quick spell fixes that problem for the moment.

He steps out into the hall and closes the door behind him; people will no doubt start panicking if this continues.]

Tony, meanwhile, was sitting on the couch, his laptop open to give him light, eating Ramen in the common room.

[As Snape passed the common room, he saw the light being given off by the laptop and paused, his wand illuminating the corners that the laptop couldn't reach. There was Tony the Charity-Case-Turned-Turncoat, eating...instant noodles, as though there wasn't a problem in the world.]

"Hey," he said, looking nervous, knowing Snape was probably still pissed at him.

[On his way to Mozenrath's room.]

[Is asleep in his room. If Snape enters he'll find him actually suspended a couple feet off the wooden floor. For whatever reason, when his bed disappeared rather than wake up and bitch at his Warden for being a dick, he decided he would finish sleeping -- just to SPITE HIM, because this is clearly his fault -- then set him on fire in the gym later that morning.]

[Snape doesn't enter; instead, he knocks on the now-nondescript door. He'll give his inmate the courtesy of privacy for exactly thirty seconds.]

[And of course being awakened with a start is exactly all he needs to lose hold of the spell, so the sound of him hitting the floor can be heard outside. By the time he gets to the door he's sufficiently annoyed, the fire from his gauntlet creating some makeshift light.]

What did you do to my room?

[Next important step, finding out how the infirmary - and Martha - is fairing in the dark.]

[Martha is, at current doing everything in the infirmary by way of the use of the pen light she had in the pocket of her lab coat. She's counting and looking for things that might be useful. On the table next to her there's a piece of paper and a pen, and she holds the penlight between her lips and scribbles rather frantically on the paper for the moment, not noticing that someone else was coming in.]

[Snape, with the benefit of a wand, has not been stumbling around in the dark like many of the others. ]

Can I be of assistance?

[Oh yes, he sounds amused. Worrying though the loss of power is, he finds the sight of Martha struggling in the dark with a penlight to be as darkly amusing as something could be in this situation.]

[Martha has, of course, mastered the art of swallowing so that she didn't end up with drool working down the length of her pen light. The ache in her jaw told her that she'd been at this for far too long, but she did what she could.

Lumos, however, had provided her with more light than she had been used too, and quickly Martha blinked with the additional source. Smiling around the penlight for a moment, Martha then remembered that she had it there and she pulled it out quickly.]

Always can use a bit of assistance.

[Snape is hanging out in the infirmary because only a frigging loon would leave one doctor alone to work in a dark clinic full of desirable medical supplies.

And if he has to treat anyone for anything, it had better be massive internal injuries, because he'll otherwise send them on their way with a disdainful sneer.

You hypochondriacs, you.]

[Snape has not slept in 48 hours and is now guarding the kitchen. Far from having dulled senses, he's just very short-tempered.]

[Harry can't sleep. Afflicted with the neon disease, his mum used to say, Only here there's no neon and now there aren't even any normal lights. Darkness at night? How unnatural is that? It's freaking him out and so instead of staying in his equally-freakishly bare room he's decided to actually help out by patrolling randomly, eventually making his way down the level one hallway when he notices light coming from behind the Dining Hall doors and decides to investigate. He pokes his head round and takes a look]

[Not one to invite people to break into a supposedly empty room, Snape has kept his wand lit just to give everyone the idea that someone is indeed sitting around, just waiting to hex those with mischief in mind.

Unfortunately, the light seems to be drawing a crowd. Or just Harry Lockhart.]

Not you.

... Yup, me. [Harry gives Snape a hesitant smile and sidles fully in.] Guarding the kitchens then? [A pro at stating the obvious, is Harry.]

[He glances around the room to see if anyone else is there, then walks up to Snape, jumping onto a table and swinging his legs. He shivers] Aren't you cold? [The big hall isn't very comfortable without the heating going.]
