Rose had left her room only to shower since Friday. Not even mealtimes had brought her out. She had been busy, mostly, trying to get her ritual underway, and the last thing she wanted was to be distracted by other people. She had even put her communicator in a drawer so that she would be able to successfully keep herself out of the Barge's business. Nothing, nothing would go wrong.

When the sound of knocking came to her door, she looked over, annoyed at the interruption. Standing up, she answered the door, but what was behind it actually startled her. She let out a yelp and actually jumped back a bit, shocked.

Really, Crane shouldn't have been surprised by that. The costume was rather disturbing. Not that it was intended in that way like his mask was, but it still was distinctly unnatural. At least, Crane thought so with the expertise of having been the scarecrow for the last few days.

"It's me." Crane said, hoping that Rose would recognize his voice. As interesting as her reaction was, it wasn't really the point of the visit. "I bought what you wanted. It should be very flammable."

Crane would have bet money it. Of course, he couldn't smell or really touch it, but at the very least it looked like the right sort of thing and had been in the right sort of place.

After her heart stopped pounding so loudly in her chest, she gave him a bit of a glare and stepped back. She was obviously on edge, as she knew that shouldn't have startled her, but she wasn't going to let that affect her. Instead, she glanced to the desk. "Then hurry and bring it in before you're spotted."

"I would really rather if you did." Crane said, stepping into the room. Frankly, he didn't want to have to go through the existential angst of having to reattach his own arm. Not feeling pain didn't mean that it wasn't disturbing.

"I take it that you've had the pleasure of being unaffected?" Crane examining the ripped stitching and leaking straw on his arm under the better light.

Well, the meeting with Rose had been interesting. At the very least, he didn't have to carrying that fuel anymore. It was enough to make someone feel very threatened, especially when they appeared to be made out of such dry, brittle material. Crane was reasonably sure that the straw that made up several of his fingers have snapped. He had no idea if that equated to broken fingers, considering he didn't have any difficulty controlling the hand. Maybe it was something to do with the gloves ( ... )

Well, you had to be thankful for small blessings. Crane guessed by the 'what are doing doing in here' that Eddie at the very least wasn't sure of who he was. Crane thought that if Nygma was still Nygma, it was reasonably obvious. But he wasn't about to check. Frankly, the German accent did not indicate that Eddie was himself.

"I'm returning this. You lost it earlier." Crane said, leaning the question mark cane up against the wall next to the door, complete with the crackling of straw as he did so. "I thought I ought to bring it back."

Which, hopefully, if Nygma caught onto the fact that it had been missing in the flood he would assume that Crane was merely being helpful. Which was unlikely in itself, but at least less obvious then having stolen the cane and not returned it. At the very least, it would create some much needed ambiguity in the situation.
