It wasn't as if she ws a stranger to the rituals of dating and courtship, whatever it went by in this or that era, but she found herself getting a little anxious as she approached her destination. Possibly it was the sort of anxiety that this particular role demand, but there was also the fact that Ray was, well, quite a lot nicer than a lot of the men she usually got involved with, and she suspected that of having something to do with the slight, unfamiliar sensation of butterflies.
On seeing Ray she waved jauntily, and then stalled out a few feet short of him, uncertain of what to do next, but pretty sure a handshake would be too formal. "Hello," she said with a smile. That s a start.

"Hey." He smiles as well, bouncing on his toes once and shoving his hands a bit deeper into his pockets. He's wearing jeans--suit pants felt a little bit too formal--but they're his nicest pair, and he's combined them with a beige button-down shirt and a loose jacket. It's all a bit late 90s, but he's sort of making it work. "Found the place alright?"
Stupid question, is his first thought when the words have left his mouth. If she'd had trouble finding her way, she wouldn't have been here on time. Oh well. At least she didn't go for a handshake; that would have been nothing but terribly awkward.

"I hope you like seafood." A bit of a grin here. "New England, if you're going for local specialties, that's kinda what you get."
