BREAKFAST triggered_it August 20 2010, 13:14:32 UTC
Adrian was seated alone. He usually began his meals in this way, waiting for others to join him. He was eating a light breakfast of fruit and yogurt. He was a vegetarian and watching his carb intake. Being dead was no reason to let himself go, after all. Amidst the various conversations taking place, each at different volumes, Adrian simply watched and observed.

Hayley arrived for breakfast a little late, lucky to get any food at all as the inmates were closing up shop. Iroh was nice enough to allow her to grab one last plate and she seemed a mixture of both tired and blase as she made her way through the tables to find a seat. She was oblivious to Adrian's presence in her current fatigue, wandering past him and taking a seat at the end a couple tables away. It's probably a good thing, as she might have avoided him had she noticed.

Adrian saw the girl pass him by. He wasn't oblivious; he realized she had been avoiding him. Right now, though, she had failed to notice him all together. This was not a worst case scenario for Adrian Veidt. He finished his meal and threw the trash away before taking a seat across from her hoping to catch her off guard. He'd also let her be the first to exchange words. He doubted she would outright tell him to go away, after all.

Hayley was caught in her own mind when Adrian approached, not noticing him until he sat down across from her. Her head lifted with a smile to greet whoever it was that joined her, but her smile instantly disappeared when she recognized who it was. Immediately, she felt guilty for the completely obvious statement of discomfort.

"Hey," she offered awkwardly, setting her fork down as she suddenly lost her appetite. She almost added 'Did you need something?', but refrained, knowing that she wanted to be friends with Adrian more than she wanted to push him away.

LIBRARY triggered_it August 20 2010, 13:18:26 UTC
Adrian worked in the library. He was pretty much the worst librarian ever. If someone was too dumb to use the dewey decimal system, that was their problem. He was much more concerned with the book he was reading. However, he would be putting on his polite facade for all who dared to interrupt him. It was how he operated. Fleeting death glares masked by flawless smiles, all done with the intention of making the viewer question how such a pleasant man could have looked so cold until they figure they must have imagined it all together. They didn't.

"Good afternoon, O'Brien," Adrian set down his book, closing it. The cover read The Road to Reality by Robert Penrose. Most of it was review for him, but it was from the early 21st century, and he wanted to see how much physics had advanced since his time. Not much, apparently, but Penrose was an engaging writer, and he could see how the book could be useful to students wishing to engage in philosophy of science for the first time, as well as professionals who needed a quick reference.

Next to him was another pile of books, mostly in foreign languages. These were all books taken from the ancient world, some of which he had heard of, but never been able to read, due to them having gone missing or been destroyed during his time line.

Adrian was all smiles and courtesy towards O'Brien, meeting his eyes, full attention focused on him. "Is there a particular book that you're looking for?" Adrian, with his knowledge of books, could be a very good librarian, when he chose to be.

WALK AROUND THE BARGE triggered_it August 20 2010, 13:20:56 UTC
Adrian skipped lunch. They weren't serving very much that was vegetarian today. Instead, he took a walk around the Barge, reflecting on what he had read today, entertaining himself with various pretentious musings, and so on. He wasn't expecting to run into many people, it being lunch hour, but for that he was glad. He wanted time alone to think before his meeting with Martha.

MEETING WITH MARTHA triggered_it August 20 2010, 13:23:08 UTC
Adrian knocked on Martha's door, pleasant smile already in place. She had wanted to talk about the book, and he was willing, though he didn't quite see the point. A squid? It was both ridiculous and brilliant. He loved it. As a comic book, it pushed boundaries. As the story of his life and what he had done? It was simply incorrect. What truth was he to gleam from this?

Martha had her copy out, as well as her notes. She wasn't sure how he was going to handle something that was so different from the file that she had on him. Really, Martha wished that the Admiral had been more specific with news papers or what not. Already, she was suspecting that she was going to need to do was go into specific historical research from both her world and as much of their shared world past as she could gather.

Still for now there was this and she opened the door with a smile, stepping back to allow him entrance. She gestured toward the table where tea had already been set. "Please, come in and have a seat."

Adrian didn't need her permission. He entered rooms with a presence that declared he owned everything he touched. However, he was not rude, so he did take a seat at the table, as instructed, waiting patiently for her to begin what she had to say.

Apparently, they were skipping 'hellos' today. It was very rude.

Martha smiled at him quickly, and she settled into the chair opposite him, lifting up the kettle that held the tea. Her voice was soft. "Tea?" She grinned a bit. "So, did you watch the movie yet?" It was a far easier question than the ones that would be coming later, and Martha wanted to start with something less loaded. She had considered the come in a hello actually, but that was neither here nor there.

"No Ella?"

GYM triggered_it August 20 2010, 13:27:12 UTC
Martha always inevitably left him feeling frustrated and moody. He liked to have free time after their meetings to go to the gym. Punching bags were his friends, and he could be very abusive to friends.

Buffy, on the other hand, was far from frustrated today, and rather enjoying her time beating the crap out of one of the punching bags. Her first inmate might have vanished prematurely, but she was determined to do things right with this one. A lot of the drama from weeks past had seemed to die down, but there was always something lurking around the next corner.

For now however, she was just looking to be ready when it did.

She delivered a sudden hard kick that sent the bag spinning, and almost snapping off from its supporting cord - and practically whapping Adrian in the face, since she hadn't seen him coming up behind it.

Way to go. He isn't mad by the almost mishap that might have left his pretty face damaged. He's not. In fact, Adrian fully respects Buffy's martial skills, though he still views himself as superior. He had caught a bullet once, after all.

No, he just holds up his hands to block the punching bag from hitting him in the face, catching it and then letting it swing back towards her. He recognized the blond woman from the network but had yet to speak with her very muh. She was the demon slayer, he remembered.

"Practicing or preparing?" he asked casually.

Relieved that she hadn't accidentally broken someone's nose, she grabbed the bag as it came back at her, stopping it mid-swing, and looking to see who it was. No one she recognized immediately.

"Is there a rule against it being both?" she asked, with a little smile.
