Who: Jace and Hix What: Hix gets his head checked out by a professional When: Just after this communication Where: Hix's office Warnings: Contents of participants minds may not be suitable for everyone?
Jace lifted a hand in greeting and nodded. "How are you feeling?" He wanted to have some idea of the state Hix was in right now before he went in.
"And we should sit down and get comfortable for this," Jace said. It probably wouldn't take long, but it might make Hix feel a little better. While he did think this would be over quickly, it was a new situation, so a lengthy affair wasn't out of the question.
The decoration in the room was a little strange for his tastes, but not all that unexpected given Hix's branch of magic. What appeared to be a skeleton stood in the corner. Was it undead, or just a normal skeleton? Jace couldn't tell immediately.
He sat down and got comfortable, adjusting his cloak. Jace nodded and reached out. He carefully touched the surface of Hix's mind, feeling around it for anything unusual. There was nothing really interesting so Jace entered Hix's mind. Unsurprisingly, he was thinking about having his mind read, and he had what looked at first glance like interesting thoughts on the matter.
That wasn't what he was looking for, though, so he began to carefully peel aside the parts of Hix's mind and memories that he wasn't looking for, folding them gently out of the way without harming them.
What he came across was not what he was looking for. It was something foreign, something that did not feel like living mind, hard and sharp and embedded. "Hix..." Jace said, obvious concern in his voice.
